I didn't have problems with the first part of the quest but finding the library...I was so ready to give up when a kinnie came to help me. Wouldn't have been as much of a problem on a lvl 100 but on lvl running in circles not really knowing where to go and having to deal with respawns and plenty of additional mobs was very discouraging.

I agree - a little popup message like 'You should check to see if Ketill has finished his map" would be a nice touch.

This is one of the cases where it gets a little finicky because I didn't want a message on every kill, since the idea is that you don't actually know when Ketill is going to be finished. But since there isn't a message on every kill, putting a message on just the last kill would require breaking it up and playing some tricks with the counting mechanism; it's doable, but I'm not sure it's totally worth it. Another possibility would have been just making it a timer, but then you'd have people just idling until the timer was up, and that's not really in the spirit of what Ketill wants you to do.

I'm less happy with the way the quest doesn't really highlight the right area of the map, but there's a plot point involving Ketill and his maps that allllllmost makes that funny, so maybe I'm okay with it after all.

I like the no pop-up text, it adds a subtle new texture to an otherwise all-too-familiar quest format.

Also, I love that I get excited every time we meet a new character with a funny hat, knowing I'm going to add it to the collection.

I am very much enjoying bingo's adventure I want to see where his shenanigans take me every Wednesdays and I have been following his adventures since week 1. I had just a few questions though; will we be able to replay the quests latter down the road to have a chance on collecting the titles we didn't pick up before, will the quests be repeatable from Bert once we have completed them since its concerted 'episodic'. And finally is bingo's adventures planed to finish after the ring gets destroyed or before the war on the black gate?

Thank you for the response. Had to abandon the quest after the first part due to lack of spare time - looking forward to the rest. Thanks for not spoiling the plot point either - I will go back and finish this and see how my poor navigation skills mesh with the story... :-)

What I was imagining by way of doing that was to make two objectives to replace this one, with identical objective text. The first one would be exactly as what we have, but one fewer goblin. When it completed it'd silently move to the next objective (just as now) which would have the same text so the player wouldn't see it happening. The second one would be for just one goblin, and would have a text after it happened ("Ketill waves to you; perhaps you should see if he's finished" or something). I'm curious, is that what you mean by "breaking it up and playing some tricks"?

Yep, pretty much -- we've done that in cases where we needed to convey some new information after a monster kill; so the first objective would be NUMBER / 8 instead of our usual NUMBER / TOTAL, and the second objective would be 7/8. Since we have you do this for Ketill twice, it doubles the number of objectives we need. Since the quest updates when Ketill is ready for you anyway, I'm not convinced making it more obvious is worth the extra steps.

I enjoyed the Moria tour this week - granted as a 100 level participant. No spoilers here. I appreciated my goat.

We do seem to be speeding along!

Yep, this week's was fun. Also, I'm not sure how we're going to bounce back from the latest twist. Nice job on the suspense and good writing, MoL.

Wem might be moving quickly, but I would like to get to Lorien soon. Got everything I wanted out of Moria's Bert Bartleby on the first day in the Mines.

Having visited Moria's Bert Bartleby I can't help wondering what came first cosmetic weapons or the french stick/baguette item?

I'm not ashamed to admit my champ is now a dual baguette wielding killing machine

I am wondering whether I should get the butter knife for offhand ?

Also when will titles return as Bingo quest rewards?

Thanks again for these interesting diversions

This made me laugh out loud! Although I think the quest line is a little unbelievable and far-fetched, it's a game so it doesn't bother me too much. I'm interested to see what next week will bring!

I'm amazed he still have his hat. Is it sewed or glued on his head ?
On a side note, I like WW, I wonder what will happen of him, will we keep him as a pet, will he goes to live with BB, or will he die in some heroic feat to save BB ? I would certainly like having him as a pet.

Oh, and I just noticed the first letter of the name and surname is always the same, IE : WW, BB, Spalvi Stoutheart... Is that on purpose or merely a coincidence ?

All of Superman's girlfriends had the initials LL - Lois Lane, Lana Lang. Stan Lee's alliterative names are legendary too - J. Jonah Jameson, Peter Parker, et al.

FWIW I didn't even notice the initials. I'll watch for it now. I like it.

Didn't know for Superman, I knew for Stan Lee's heroes though. I watch The Big Bang Theory from time to time

Regarding names - is there a specific reason why in the German version the lynx is called "Willem Wollhaar" in dialogues and the NPC lynx itself has the name "Willem Backenbart"? I guess it's just a mistake which you might want to fix.

I took a few semesters of German in college, but not enough to even attempt the translations on my own -- our localization team is in charge of the text for that version. But if you file a bug report I think they should be able to choose the right one and make them match.

Hey, i also hold a double letter on my complete RL name! Does that make me legendary or redundant?

I'd be ok with idling until the timer runs out.

Ever since cosmetic weapons came out, I've used the butter knife in my "adventuring" garb for my dairyman character. Of course, when he's dressed up in his finery for a special occasion, he might wear a decorative longsword. Usually, though, it's just the butter knife.
As a level 1 burglar, Bilbo got a pony when he joined the Smaug The Dragon raid. Then he asked for leadership, looted the chest, assigned himself the 1st age Arkenstone and mailed it to an alt (Bilbo's a VIP so can mail from anywhere). They did some PvMP and an Epic Battle, then he apologized and gave the Arkenstone back because it wasn't BoA. He kept the pony.

I rather liked the new quest, story wise. But gameplay wise... not really. Not only I've discovered that Anazamerkhem (spelling ?) doesn't have any kind of fast-fast travel, while still being in the middle of nowhere (which is dumb), but also having to wait 8minutes doing pretty much nothing is bad IMO. I hope we will not make someone read the book when the adventure ends, or we are going to wait for half an hour.
I solved the issue by logging off and do it on another character (3of my character are doing the chain), and for the last I'm writing that meanwhile. But I shouldn't have to do that.

On a side note, did he make me find his manuscript pages, and wander in some of the most dangerous place of Middle Earth (lore wise) just for fun ? Next time, I let him drown.

It's Bingo's passive-aggressive revenge for dropping those supply boxes on his head. "Amnesia"? Riiiiiiight.......
