I know. I did it. I still wonder if it's not bugged. I might have missed them, but in either case, I think it shows there was an issue.

Pretty sure I asked about this earlier on in this thread and MoL said they wouldn't do that to us. Spend some now and enjoy yourself. Nothing's cost more than 20 tokens so far, so keep that much back and you'll be fine. I've got every pet, a guard, the hole, the bread (makes the perfect cosmetic weapon - dual wielding baguettes ), a few of the paintings and I still have 50+ tokens left.

Oh, that's good to know, thanks! I like having new housing items and a few of the pets so I've been spending along the way. I may have to go back for the bread, that was in Dolven-View if I remember correctly.

I was through the gates to Dol Guldur thrice before I resorted to checking the wiki.

Because I finished all of Mirkwood and have been a subscriber, I used stable routes:
Mirk Eaves to Ost Galadh and from there to Thangulhad.
No chattable NPC that I could spot there so I went to Helethir instead.
Again no NPC to talk to there that I was able to spot so I went into Dol Guldur, killing everything and looking along the main route.

Back to Ost Galadh to see if there was an NPC clue I'd missed. Back to Helethir and into Dol Guldur. No NPC to talk to along that route.

Perhaps the trigger area for the cat could be extended a bit? Say...down to the road nearby?

Feedback to MoL for this week's quest:

I was correct in that 4 of the 8 NPCs I found with quest comments (not counting Bingo) also had repeatable quests. Repeatable quest rings mask blue comment rings so I'd suggest avoiding using NPCs with repeatable quests. In addition, two of those NPC's sometimes have a "conversation" and if you happen to pass by them while they are "speaking" you don't see any rings at all, blue, gold, or otherwise. (Actually, the player can't even interact with the NPC while the conversation is going on.) Thankfully the third NPC wasn't "speaking" so I saw that blue comment ring.

There was also a point running along the road that I came to a crossroads (14.2S, 49.8W) near Minas Gil. The road that seemed to be more easterly was the road that goes to Minas Gil, not Thangulhad. Of course I searched up there and didn't find anything. There was also a third road that headed into the Scuttledells, but I decided that it was unlikely WW would go there. Placing an NPC at those crossroads with a comment about seeing the direction WW had taken would've been a nice thing to have. It's really the only place I got off the track.

I was rather surprised that Laeglang had nothing to say. Didn't he notice WW passing by? Apparently a total failure at being a lookout. I absolutely expected him to have a quest comment.

Finally, I was all over the place inside DG and not finding WW or clues or anything until I said to my wife "I'm going to go up here to get a better look around... Oh, you're not going to believe this..."

Overall, it wasn't a very long search. Somewhere between 5 and 10 minutes is all.

So where is Bingo this week? I've really enjoyed this content a lot but for some reason Bert's not telling me where Bingo is this morning. Last week I left him in front of Caras Galadhon after a wonderful trip through Mirkwood. But when I go to the front gate this morning, he's nowhere to be found and Bert's not sharing. Thoughts?

I found him with the new quest waiting right where we left him outside Caras, it worked properly. Perhaps you were a little too early today

It's funny you mention that, after perusing the forums for a bit, Bingo showed up right where I left him. Onto the next great adventure!

As I mentioned above, lots of times there's extra voice-acting that you hear only if you talk to the NPC again immediately after getting quest instructions from them.

In such cases, why not play the additional voice clip immediately after you close the dialog (clicking "continue" or "accept" or whatever)? It would be like the NPC is adding a final thought as you're walking away. It would ensure that most of the voice acting isn't "wasted" on most players.

In fact, it could be implemented for the whole game, not just the Bingo quests:
    • If you interact with an NPC to start or continue a quest, then
    • if you close the dialog by clicking "accept" or "continue" (but not "cancel"), then
    • if there is an additional voice clip that the player can hear if they click on the NPC again, then
    • play it immediately, rather than waiting for the player to click.

Not particularly thrilled with the rewards this week, the usual map and hatstand, no other housing items and once again nothing useful either.

I would have thought Bingo would somehow manage to get himself captured and wind up in Dol Guldur before heading to the Great River.

I am going to laugh when we finally get to the gates of Mordor, and there will be Bingo, general of the fell armies of Sauron, laughing at we poor pathetic adventures who helped him in his quest to return to the Black Lands.

Why does there have to be anything useful? (and there's been nothing useful so far, so why the surprise?) Bingo isn't a grind, it's pure fun, the quests are frivolous and the rewards are equally so I'm a bit glad there aren't any housing items this region I'm running out of storage, I ran out of hooks long ago.

Bingo quests are the highlight of my LOTRO week

If you are on level with the quests at the time there has been a lot of useful stuff, my newest hobbit had used one of every type of gear available from Bert.

    I didn't find in search.

I haven't started these... Do the 34+ Bingo Boffin quests count towards the Life of a Bounder quest deed that grants Compassion/Empathy/+2 Innocence? That would be a great alternative to the pie and mail quests that many people hate.

Having only run this on a character that's already done all the Life of a Bounder quests, I'm not sure. But since it's not exclusive to The Shire, I kind of doubt it would count.

Dont count, and not all 52 quests are located in the shire...

I've just returned from a month-long vacation and finished the Bingo Boffin quests I missed on my main. Still need to do them with my on-level Guardian. The writing, as always, is great, but it seems like the quest levels are advancing really quickly now. We could have spent some more time in Lothlorien and Mirkwood before moving on to Great River... Now it's going to be difficult to catch my level 56 Guardian up to the now level 70ish quests.

Did anyone check the name of the Elf that gives advice how to fill the ink well? It is Maervadhor. I visited a page about Sindarin, and found that the name is a composite of Maer and Badhor (the B turns into a V after a R). Maer means good, or excellent, Maeron means Artist, and Badhor means Judge.

    He is a critic!

Good episode today! But I didn't like the rude attitude of Sabert. He should've been embracing me as an old friend and buying me mead at the tavern for all the help I gave Stangard!

I was more than impressed with Landroval. Really majestic. Bingo is going too fast. We want more!
