    There in a jiffy
Lets see how it looks...Excellent stuff, it is long enough, does not have any strange cuts, a bit dirty below but that is ok, and dyes very well indeed. I am in you debt, Goldrush.

    Evendim Blue as example...

Ehmm, jeez, I just realized that this cloak may have been the very first purely cosmetic item I have ever purchased....

You can also try the Cloak of the Unwelcome Guest. It is a quest reward in the Thinglad area. It is a solid color and dyes really well. Cosmetically it seems to be a hoodless version of the Cloak of the Galadhrim.

Cleitanius, link to one of them so we can see?

Sammo, I will check that out if I have anyone still needing to do that quest, maybe Anancite or Angredeth, probably the latter one. I got him a Blessing of the Valar so he has a lot to catch up on...

for the future, you can turn on the landscape brightness by going to the Options Panel, first Graphic tab, under Colour turn the Ambient Light slider all to the right, it will lighten up the scene considerably. If you happen to take screens at night time, you can toggle a personal lantern with Alt+F10 for rear and front of your char, so for both cases you don't have to worry about finding a light source. Hope it helps!

    Ok, here we go...

I started with Rivendell Green to put some some...ehmm.. strong green to it.

Then I went with Ranger Green. In my opinion the Ranger green might be a poor choice for this outfit since it rather pale and makes for a dull impression. IMO.

I skipped the cloak for now, to show more back details. On a side note I often go to Mounted Combat without the cloak since I imagine the weapons might get entangled in it while swinging them. Call it a small take on game immersion.

Here is my Warden with a similar outfit and the Cloak of the Unwelcome Guest so you can see what it looks like. Steel Blue is my favorite color.

I've followed the image capture guide on your site, Marancil, but can't seem to get the level of detail that you get. Have any additional secrets you can share?

What image capture guide...? Sorry if I am confused, but there is so much to do with that site that I never get around to, I forget what is actually done...

That looks very good, Sammo, care to reveal the other parts of the outfit, like the shoulders? I do not really like them hooded Elven cloaks, to long and pointy hood, but the front view with the cloak wrapped around the neck looks awesome.. Those boots also look like made for the outfit.

Contact me if you need more Steel Blue and you don't have another high level scholar handy...

I tested the lvl 95 Fangorn Medium Armour. It looks pretty awesome, and has great stats up to and beyond level 100. Been sweating getting a few Emerald Shards, did not intend to use them for this, but hey, if you wanna look good its gonna cost ya, right?
Will post some images once it is crafted, getting sleepy, it's almost midnight.

Marancil - for some reason I associated you with this website => http://materialmiddleearth.blogspot....creenshot.html. This is the guidance I followed. So, if that is not you, then what steps do you take to get such great screen shots?

As for my outfit, the pieces are these (all dyed Steel Blue):

Head - Haven't found one I like yet, though I have used the Hood of Night found on Skirmish Vendors
Back - Cloak of the Unwelcome Guest. I have also forgone the cloak and donned the Wardens Pack
Shoulders - Dunland Caretaker's Patched Mantel
Chest - Breast Plate of the Five Rivers
Legs - Doesn't matter as they don't show with this chest piece
Gloves - Dunlending's Plated War Gauntlets
Feet - Brushed Leather Boots, most likely from one of the Quartermasters in Galtrev

I wanted a lighter, more medium armor look than the one you put together.

Ah, no I have another site with a lot less info on it, really just a placeholder I created with another couple of guys showing interest for the game back in 2013, lotrokin.me .... I use it to host my images.
The advice on that site is sound and I can not think of anyway to complement it but for two things:

    • Even if I use Lotro's own image screenshots a lot, when I want higher quality I do Alt-Tab and make the screenshot with an external application. There are many free softwares available out there, but I have come to rely on LightScreen since it has a small system impact and relevant features. However, most images in this thread have been made just using PrntScr within Lotro.
    • I run the game on a 4K monitor. In very simple words, more pixels per inch, which makes for more image information, higher resolution and, ultimately, image detail.

On a side note some of the images above where taken with the game settting in DX9 and no setting on Ultra-High and some were taken running in DX10 with all available settings maxed out on Ultra-High. I am no image analyst, but both seem pretty good regardless of when they were taken, I think the single most decisive aspect of my setup is the 4K monitor. I run the game at 3820*2160 pixels.

Breastplate of the five rivers? So it is the same then as the breastplate of the Moonlands... interesting.

    Thanks for the info.

    Fangorn Medium Armour

As much as I felt the Fangorn Heavy Armour set was very fancy and "shiny" it did not have that rugged martial look I think the Level 80 has, images posted above. Now, the Fangorn Medium Armour is also a little overworked when it comes to fancy details, but a lot less and it does have more of the above mentioned look. Sturdy. Martial. Even the Helm looks good.

Below two screenshots of the set as it comes "unpacked". No Dyes.

    Image taken in Kingsfell

Frankly, it is almost as good looking as the Harndirion Warden armour I posted before, but that is frankly more customized for Warden with that chestplate and all, so this later is more of an option for my hunters.

Now to get a good cloak.

    EDIT/
I just made a slight Dye test and it takes the colours very well, maybe too well.

    • Head: Navy
    • Shoulders: Evendim Blue
    • Chest: Purple
    • Glove: Burgundy
    • Leg: White
    • Boot: Crimson

    Fantastic stuff....

    Ok, here we go again.

This is not easy. We are talking Hunter here, so I did not want to use the usual bright colours, but I could not get around to like the all green with Rivendell Green or Ranger Green. And dark is still hot.

So I compromised using Sienna, Black and Steel Blue.

    Gloves and Boots Black.

I am still not sure about this, actually I was kinda surprised by the fact that the Shoulders cover such a large part of the chest. The Cloak is the Plain one, from Bree shop, still grateful to Goldrush for that tip.

Ah, and I choose Sienna above Umber or Orange because it is both darker and brighter in comparison. https://lotro-wiki.com/index.php/Dyes

So why not a red chest, as I have in many other images above? Well, because the Chest and the Shoulders work very differently on this Gear. I could go for Red/Crimson for the shoulders, thus covering the upper part of the chest, or I could do it on the Chest piece, but it would be low. Dunno yet. Advice appreciated.

All of it except the helmet (which is a world-drop) is from Eomer's heavy armor set, level 85. It can be crafted with Eastemnet standing in the Metalsmith guild, and I imagine that owning the right Rohan region would make it available through reputation crafting recipes, too.

Here is a picture of the full set, boasting a cool Fantasy rendition of a Viking spectacle-helmet, sans aventail.

I KNEW I had seen it before.... I think I never got around doing it since you need Eastement coin to barter for it and I was out, or some like that.

    Summer festival fun

I really like the caparison this year, and it goes well with some of the older cosmetics from the festival too. While I did not use the new shoulders and cloak - those are also quite nice and I look forward to using them in the future

I had a peek at you Fashion Blog and was puzzled by:
    Steed Absinthe is wearing:
    Caparison of Naire in Black
Halter of Michel Delving in Black
Leggings of Michel Delving in Black
    Gear is Champion’s Gear
from your Defender of Minas Tirith entry.
I do not seem to be able to find a NAIRE Mounted set?

the Naire caparison is a reward from the summer festival, you can get it right now since the fest runs till the 4th August (there is no full set sadly, only caparison)
