Last one from me for now - I made a hobbit burg. Meanwhile I discovered that boots clip awfully on hobbits...still have my eye out for sneaky-looking shoes that I like better than these. I don't like the ones with curled-up toes, at least not for this hobbit.

I have wondered what would make a good thematic outfit. As a small attempt I equipped with the Armour set I have posted about before (lvl 80 Heavy, plus shoulderguards and Armour of the Moon lands from Ithilien) and took up the Norcroft Caparison set. All Rivendell Green.

This is the result with my Steed in the black tone Sooty:



and this is the result with a White Steed.



I long doubted that white would look any good, but finally decided to spend the 600TP to unlock it and see for myself. Frankly I am surprised.
I do like a bit sturdy harsh look on my characters but using a White steed like this, in combination with the green caparison and the green armour set... well, in my opinion it is actually a pretty good result.

Now, some may argue that one should take up the "real" Rohirrim Armour that you can barter in Hytbold and Cliving among other places, and yes, I will give that a shot as well, but I am rather happy with this result. With the Kings Banner of course...

The final question would be (and forgive the awkward angles of the screenshots) what look best: a black or a white horse ? Is this even a decent approximation to an "ideal" Rohirrim Rider Outfit?

White horse gets my vote here. Looks much better with the green.

It's probably not the "ideal" Rohirrim outfit in terms of authenticity, but it looks fantastic. If you want to make any changes toward what I would consider the Rohan standard, I would suggest some thinner-profile shoulders, and possibly a helm that's a little more conical and/or features horsehair (lvl 85 Wildermore armor comes to mind immediately, but the dye properties might not match exactly). I would like to repeat, however, that the full set you have looks bloody amazing as is, especially for a guardian, champ, or captain.

The white horse looks a bit more iconic, as the symbol of Rohan is a white horse on a green background. However, the black horse looks amazing as well (not ALL Mearas are white/gray). The armor is a bit heavy on the green; I might personally change a few of the smaller pieces to a neutral tone like gray, black, or brown. But overall, VERY nice job!

Thanks a LOT for the amazing reactions. It seems I am able to do something right in this game after all....

Maggie, yes you have a point I will try with the regular 80 armour and take some pics. It is less "flashy"... and also perhaps Walnut Brown boots and Black gloves or something like that. Narrower shoulderguards, noted.

As mentioned I will see if I can get a hold on both Wildermore and Hytbold sets, I had them at a time, but with limited space in the Wardrobe, well you all know how it is.

My friend Noodly Potpie of Landroval made a fun outfit for the season She tried to go for the Nittany Lions/Pennsylvania State College colors.

I thought her using the gourd was pretty clever.

The chestpiece covers the legs as well, its the Light Armour Robe from DA. The Shoulders are the Light Armor shoulders from DA also.

Here's 3 outfits i made using 4 of same items, Top Link from Zelda, Middle a Musketeer, Bottom Zorro.

Outfit: Hats: "Elegant Plumed Hat" bought in lotro store, "Pointed Hat" found at light armour vendor in armour shop West bree.

Chest: "Ceremonial Línham" bought at Lalias Market or "Línham" Drops in Tower of Orthanc (75 raid both T1 or T2).

Back: "Plain cloak" bought at any outfitter vendor.

Leggings: "Dolembadanir" Drops in Tower of Orthanc (75 raid both T1 or T2) or "Ceremonial Woodsman's Supple Leggings" bought at Lalias Market (leggings also found in a few dunland quest).

Gloves: "Steadfast Dunlending Campaign Gloves" Westfold Tailor crated level 70 set req dunland rep.

Boots: "Nightshade Boots" got at Gravenwood Quest Breath of the Dragon or "Ceremonial Trapper's Leather Boots" bought at Lalias Market.

Shield: "Sergeant-at-Arms’ Heavy Shield of Naillan" bought at Skirmish camp level 65.
