I play LoTRO through steam but they have "run out" of keys for the quad pack. I just wanted to confirm (this may seem silly) that if I buy the quad pack from Turbine directly, I will still be able to access it even though I am playing through Steam?
I know that the steam account and the LoTRO account are connected, but just wanted to 100% confirm!
Yes, you will be able to access it. Playing through Steam makes no difference. You just get a code that you enter in the in-game store using Redeem Code (same as claiming the free sample of the week).
Hi I've bought the quad pack only seeing the information in the reviews about steam running out after purchasing... Does this mean I just wasted $10? or will Turbine actually do something about the players who have fallen into this situation? Surely I'm not he only one.
This issue has now been fixed. Check Steam to see if your key has been applied, and if not, get in touch with Account Support through support.turbine.com.
When will LOTRO DLC be available for sale again? At discount prices? Wanted to buy it for my alt account tomorrow and now it's gone...
We are currently working with Steam to get DLC available again. In the meantime, everything there is also available in the LOTRO Market, and on sale. The difference will be that you will get a code, and enter the code through Redeem Code in the LOTRO Store in-game.
[Posted this in the wrong place, a Black Friday thread in General, sorry about that]
I purchased the Steely Dawn kit for someone (a non-Steam LotRO player) as a gift on Steam on Sunday night. I got the confirmation email to my account quickly and I can see the gift listed in my inventory. I expected her to get an email with the key directly but as of Tue AM she has not received anything on her end. I have not gotten feedback from Steam about a problem so I filed a support ticket with Steam but have no response yet.
I note that the Steely Dawn item is no longer visible in the store either.
This was my first time trying to buy something as a gift on Steam, so I can't be sure I didn't do something wrong.
I really don't know what to expect at this point .
***** Update: *****
OK, we tried it again tonight and everything worked as expected.
The feedback on Steam for sending a gift successfully is much better than the (lack of) feedback when something (that I still don't understand) was wrong.
Anyway, she got the email, we setup a new Steam Account for her, she started her LotRO download, accepted the gift, got her key from the CD Keys list, and all is well with the world.
When it works its a pretty slick system.
