12 Hour Cord and Q show - Thank you!

Just stopping by to thank everyone at SSG who turned up yesterday for the 12 hour stream. I (and many others) were there with you for the whole 12+ hours and to Cordovan and QU especially, thank you! I had a great time, was really happy to hear all of the things that we spoke about, had lots of questions answered and most of all had fun! Happy Anniversary and heres to many more years in this wonderful game

I was stuck at work and only caught a couple of hours of it, but it was really cool. I wish I had had the foresight to take the day off

I was also unable to watch more than an hour of it, and there doesn't seem to be much info about what they actually said out there - if anyone wants to give a run down, then please do!

Did they say whether there's going to be an Anniversary sale this year in the game store or Market? Some of us having been telling new players over the last few weeks (especially ones worried about the cost of getting in to the game) to look for sales during the Anniversary, and now we're worrying that we spread misinformation.

I spent some time trying to see what I could watch/learn, but I never saw any visual information (and sound isn't an option for me) beyond peoples' questions scrolling on the right side. Did they say if they were going to put the information from the livestream up on the forums for those of us that couldn't participate?

I do appreciate that they all took the time to do the event, though!

I watched here and there throughout the day and enjoyed the show- a lot of variety between interviews with staff, streamers, and doing fun GM stuff in game.

It was sort of addressed by QU in that he said sales would show up when they show up and that he wouldn't be answering questions about quad pack sales. The fact that he mentioned it by name means they are at least aware of it. My guess is tomorrow or bust!

    Thanks, Kickman! <3

It's not the information I was hoping for, but I appreciate you very much for being willing and able to answer the question.

Tell me about it. I thought for sure last week they would have announced special sales for the Anniversary. Maybe there not gonna do any special sales this year. If they don't it's pretty stupid on there part.

I had been intending to buy some TP to take advantage of the sales. I was expecting something really great. May or may not now.

Thanks! It was a lot of work but even more so a lot of fun, and I know a bunch of folks here really enjoyed doing it. The community was great throughout, both in-game and in-chat, and despite close to a thousand people watching at any given time, there were very few significant chat issues. This is thanks in large part to the volunteers on the LOTROstream team who did a great job of moderating.

In the coming days (ok, maybe it'll take a week or two), we'll be working on getting highlight videos out on YouTube and Twitch. This will make it much less difficult for people to watch individual interviews and events, and will probably help the community find and distribute the various things we did say that might be considered news by ya.

I will be doing some forum giveaways so anyone can get a chance to score one of the codes we were giving out, stay tuned later this week.

I will also be visiting the European worlds on Friday afternoon, time TBA. As the night went on it became clear we weren't going to get in-game until later, so we decided to help our EU players attend during a more reasonable time of day by pushing that bit off. I'll have more information sometime before going live with it.

    Happy 10th Anniversary!

Great, that'll be good to see. Any highlights to watch out for in particular? I'm hoping there were some Mordor teases (aside from the promise of a raid) in amongst the frolicking!

The chat with sev for sure, and the chat with Pinion and others. I think a lot of people will like our conversation with the artists and engineers as well. Dunno, there's a lot there.

I definitely enjoyed the little interviews/conversations with people involved in different roles on the team, be it content developers, QA, engineers, executives, artists. It was fun to hear what their jobs are like and how they interact with Lotro personally.

I vividly remember when I first watched the extras on the DVDs for Lord of the Rings, and how fascinated I was to learn about all those different jobs involved in the making of a film. This felt a little bit like that, on the video game/MMO side. Thanks to all the folks who took the time to sit down and chat with us!

Thank you for the stream and the news about the upcoming raid and nice giveaways! It was really fun to find you in Forochel on Brandywine, shame I've come first but absolutely missed you guys and just went down the road until met other player that was coming to you and as a result came seconds before me

Really happy to obtain a Tundra bear after all -- it was the last pet I hadn't from the collections (except those from the Hunt that are coming in future weeks, of course).

And yeah, the QU's misspelling "Phindecaco" surely will be a new meme in our kinship

Yes thank you for the stream. I was able to follow it almost the full 12+ hours (started listening/watching about 1 hour late), which in my time zone meant sleepless night and morning . Interviews were cool, concept art (even if was from earlier content) was interesting, and flying around with that admin mode camera was awesome . I hope to be able to be there when you visit Evernight.

    +1

It was really awesome to Watch the people working on my favourite game. Even though the delay may had turned down the smile a bit at some "viewers", everything worked out fantastic What a day. The start With QU steering the ship really deserve credit, you really are a worthy CM substitute .

What really touched me was amount of dedication i watched from everyone working on the game, it's really amasing...
Being on Holiday.. taking Pictures of structures/patterns for artwork... Sitting late at night, in your time off work, at home, composing music for the game.... Trying to improve the code in the game, without getting to the goal.. but neverless keeping up the spirit, and then pushing on, trying to change/implement things that "wasn't possible" but suddenly works out, and get to be a fantastic feature for the everyday user in the game.

Best wishes for everyone at SSG, really looking forward to more adventures in Middle-earth. Thank you

I caught the last hour of it myself, it was very good.

It just makes me jealous... pax is always a thousand miles from here, the studio is 800 miles, no chance to connect like a lot of the folks have...

But thems the breaks. You people don't have bears, eagles and deer in your back yards every day either, I got that! *must keep telling myself that*

I am still watching the stream on youtube. So awesome! Just saw the 3 engineers talking about their work.

I wish ransroth gets the opportunity to work on the instance finder again at some point. Such an important tool imo!

Have the forum givewayas actually taken a place? Did I miss them or they didn't happen?

You are correct, they have not. A combination of getting ill in real life and having an overly-booked schedule meant I kept putting it off. Stay tuned, though!
