    This is the first I've heard of this, and I can't get in the game for a while so I can't check it myself. Which hobbit are you talking about, the one by the lake or the one who's scared of turtles? And where does that hobbit show up if you have the horseshoe equipped? At the party?

    I think the timing of being given another horseshoe, may be a clue, as some people on the Scavenger Hunt, may not have taken the original horseshoe, or got rid of it.

    I will be equipping my horseshoe for the Year 10 quests.

    Yes at the party, a hobbit turns up in a skeleton outfit.
    Check the wiki for other horseshoe stuff.
