Maestro MIDI to ABC converter for LOTRO

The link in Digero's post now leads to a github page. Due to no fault of Digero's, I'm sure, the download of the maestro.msi includes a Trojan virus, Trojan Kotver!gm2, found by Symantec Norton 360. I'm not sure if the zip file also includes malware, but Norton labels it as unsafe. That might be a false positive, but the msi file is definitely compromised.
If anyone knows of a safe download site for Maestro now, I might still be interested in trying it.

The installer does NOT have a virus. I just scanned Maestro_v2.3.0.msi downloaded from the github page using Windows Defender on my computer, and two online file scanners: MetaDefender and VirusTotal, and there were no viruses detected. Additionally VirusTotal shows that the file has the same hash as the first time it was scanned by that site in December 2015 (i.e. it has not been modified since then).

Can you please confirm that you're downloading the file from https://github.com/digero/maestro/releases? It's possible that you have a virus that's infecting other files that you download. I would recommend doing a complete scan of your computer.

I was wandering if you have any plans to work on Maestro anymore. There are many of us that would love to see whatever the bug is that causes note with 0 timing or note too long to be fixed. There are also many of us that would love to see a auto fade option added for the ending of songs. Maestro if by far the best tool we have at our disposal and we love it, but would love to see it improved a bit.

Is there any possibility, when you update Maestro for the fiddle to include a way to tag songs for mood, or genre?

I am running windows 10 professional on an old lenovo x201 laptop, and just downloaded the latest version of Java. I installed Maestro but for some reason when I go to run it it wont recognize java. Is this a common problem with a quick fix?
I have been running Maestro on my desktop which is my main computer and it runs windows 7, and I don't NEED Maestro on my laptop but it would be nice.

If memory serves me correctly, I believe you have to have Java 32bit to run Maestro.

I went to the download site and confirmed you do need the 32bit Java

Maestro and ABC Player require Java 7 (32-bit) or later. I recommend that you disable the Java browser plugin after installing Java for increased security.

I tried downloading Maestro and the ABC Player. I tried to copy and paste the said song above, and I don't know how you all are doing it, but it does not "copy and paste" into any of the players. So, how do you do this? I even tried to copy and paste into a "music" folder and then tried to open file, but nothing is there. It is just an empty folder. Frustrated yea.

Which song are you referring to?
If it is a text file of .abc notation, you will have to copy/paste it into a text file and save as other with .abc at the end of the name in order for it save as a abc file which can be opened with maestro and/or abc player.

Based on the work by Bruzo and adarbyem I did some additional changes and made full release, so its easy to download and test.

I made it transpose the fiddle lowest 7 notes with noises up 1 octave, so you don't have to worry about getting noises in your songs. If you do want them, for now either edit the ABC files by hand or select another instr. in maestro for fiddle.

There is a chance they will make them into a full three octaves so if Digero decides not to update yet, I wouldn't blame him. If it were me, I would wait until the final product came out before I poured work into Maestro.

Is anyone else having trouble with the new ABCPlayer. On my file for example it says Lonely Mountain Fiddle but when ABCPlayer loads it it changes it to Student Fiddle. Did this on other files too. I managed to get rid of the problem by using the short names LMfiddle, Spfiddle and Stfiddle. Then it worked.

Sometimes there's just a few notes that scrape the bottom that I could do without, rather than shifting everything upward. No worries if that's too much of a request - again, this is a dream come true as it is!

so i got Maestro Version 2.3.5 Testing a tune i have it sounds very different in game then on Maestro? anyone else notice this? it be hard to make a Fiddle tune if sounds are different in game from Maestro.
