Turn off camera auto-focus?

Is there a way to turn off the feature that causes the camera to focus on a target if you aren't holding the right mouse button, or better yet make such a focus be something you manually activate via a keyboard button? Finding it annoying if I forget to untarget something and start walking away and let go of my right mouse button before going far enough for the game to automatically do that for me, the camera suddenly zooms around and I'm looking the wrong way...

I think you accidentally pressed the “X” key. It’s the toggle for that. Just press “X” again.

It's one of the most useful tools on PvP/PvE grouping that isn't about your class. So constantly.

I use auto-focus constantly. Especially on war-steeds. When you're riding, you take damage, your camera turns to face the foe attacking you. If anything, the option needs improvement, not removal.

I also use it while tanking as there are often mobs in ranged locations that aren't easily found.

But I recognize most players can't figure out how it would be useful to them. SSG should set the option to not have a hot-key, make it opt-in. Simply remove the "X" hot key shortcut for new installs. it confuses new players who don't know how it would be beneficial.

I disable this on most of my characters. I find it essential, however, on my hunter.

I almost quit the game when I was a newbie because of this 'bug' before I finally found out where the 'feature' lived and got it turned off. Until then the only thing I could do was die, retreat, and then log off and back on.

I'd agree with this, default X is more of a problem than the feature itself. The feature is situationally useful; but I am more often telling how to turn it off (usually to someone that is very frustrated that "somehow" turned on).

During MC I use the directional indicator and occasional glances at the radar to keep track of my target.

I moved it away from my X default immediately.

Since I use it a lot, I moved it to the F key. But for people who don't, un-map it completely. But I wish SSG would just turn everyone's off and let us re-map it how we want.

This. I find it very useful in mounted combat. But it's such a consistent pitfall for new players that I think it should definitely be unbound by default.
(And add a UI option so it can be controlled without requiring a key binding!)
