Surely there has to be at least ONE release of MM in Bullroarer.
Surely they cannot be going straight to live without ANY FORM of beta testing!!!

Absolute madness!
YES I do! - I've NEVER known a major release like this one going live without at least ONE round of Bullroarer testing.
I spent 30 years in I.T. - The mere thought of not having a beta testing phase is so ridiculous to me that I am lost for words.
Mordor instances at high tiers was a disaster for champions class and since then most of the instances are for the range dps favor so yes i would like to have a look before i buy it cause i dont want to spend again 120 euro for playing with my range alts most of the times...

It has been confirmed that there will be at least one round of testing for Minas Morgul (by Cordovan, stating that it would be 'soon' after beta for Stout-Axe, which was last week). Only question is 'when', since we never get any weekend-beta rounds anymore.
Yes, they all did. Some had closed rounds of beta initially, but they all had full beta rounds.
Palantir is a small hand selected group of players and they by no means represent the whole playerbase. No offence to them, as I'm sure they put a lot of work into what they do, but I don't trust anyone else's feedback on a product I have had zero chance to look at. It's my money that will buy the expac for me, and so, I'd like to make sure that the expac is something that is worth - my money. What goes on behind closed doors with a small group of other players - won't tell me if the expac is worth my money or not. Beta will.
At the end of the day, if this product is a boon and really worth buying, they'd be throwing the chance to come take a look at it at everyone. The fact that they're not, is a bit alarming IMO.

Who has said that there will be no beta testing?
Right.. nobody that counts (Aka a blue name has not said "There will be no beta testing"
So..instead of making a thread where you all moan about the same thing.. lets just wait and see?
Its 4 more weeks until the release date.. That is 4 potential bullroarer testing cycles (if we go by the normal schedule they do)
Ohh.. we just had stout-dwarf test on bullroarer.. that is indeed a minas morgul testing bullroarer phase right there.

It's unusual for there to be no beta before launch of the bundles on the marketplace. Sure, there has been no blue name to say there will be no beta, but as of yet, there hasn't been a post to say that there will be either. People are asking - for that. An announcement to say, yes, there will be a beta.
LOL, the dwarf race beta had nothing to do with Minas Morgul, its just a new race that is bundled in with the expac. You can run a new dwarf right now, but I don't fancy your chances of getting into Minas Morgul.
That said, I'm sure inside Minas Morgul and the quest arcs that come with it will be spectacular, and that's not what I want to look at (nor new dwarves). I want to look what the new guild crating is about, where the new gear is, will it require embers, or some new fancy type of burnt ash? Will LI's be doing any more growing? Will besieged Mordor just be old Mordor, with some phasing added? What's included in the Valar item (not that I want it, but what's inside it interests me, especially if it's handing out guild craft tiers like candy as that will be another point against - don't buy).

I'd really hope we see the promised RK changes that Cord talked about in his last stream during the MM preview
Many of us need to plan their raid teams for the next instance/raid cluster and with such an important revamp we'd like to know the direction in which that class is going
If the end of October holds then there will only be about six weeks of testing max.
It is logical, in view of the times in which we live. But to be logical is not to be right, and nothing on God's earth could ever make it right!

It's true that they were not tested on Bullroarer, which did not exist. But there was a test server with a different name, and yes the first two expansions were tested extensively. In those days, it was NOT open beta, you had to get a invitation to test (which I did). I think the original test server might have been Roheryn (the name of Aragorn's horse), can't remember for sure.

For once should we trust the developers to deliver a workable product ? codemasters did for us in Europe could ssg not do the same for us again?. Hey I could be wrong but the preorder is out there ..
I wish everyone the best but could we all not be positive and all hope for the best for a change devs put a lot of hard work into lotro and should be credited for doing so. just a thought.. ps don't kill me if im wrong I am just an optimist.
All that glitters isn,t gold.
Rohan had fairly extensive Bullroarer testing. In fact they put off the release of that expansion by about a month into October for additional changes and testing. First went up on Bullroarer on July 25, 2012.
