Same. I've already tried a repair install and an entire wipe of the LOTRO files and a clean install and the patcher still hangs up at the place you noted.
I was logged in earlier, then I crashed. Game was hanging on the 'waiting in line' message. I let it sit for 1h30 and then decided to try a repair. In the process of that now.
Sorry to hear others are having problems as well. Rhusradicans, since you've done the reinstall and it didn't work, I guess I'll just give it a couple of days and see if they fix things on the game end. Hope your repair works, Calencitha!
At this point, I'm waiting for a patch. On Facebook, at least one other person with this problem had Win7, and others had done reinstall/cache cleaning to no avail. So I'm not going to reinstall just yet. The game was running fine for me until 28.3, so the problem is definitely on SSG's end.
Thank you for that link, Saerafin-I probably should have posted in that forum! So apparently it is a problem that they are aware of and are working on. Like a lot of those other folks, I have Win7. I'll wait for the fix and not do anything drastic.
What the title says. The error message says "Failed to load patchclient [Cannot load library patchclient: the specified module could not be found]
I'm running Windows 7 on an old Lenovo and would appreciate any advice from the technically Wise. Am I going to have to uninstall and reinstall?
From what I gather they aren't too concernd about older machines including windows 7.Without service packs I'm not installing much of anything Lotro updates. They seem to forget we can't load windows updates anymore or maybe they just don't care.

Same problem here. Unable to play since the update. Just want to make sure this gets noticed and fixed.
Hi sixbixits! If you go to the thread linked by Saerafin up-thread, there is an engineer looking into it. So it has been noticed. I'm hoping they can figure it out and patch it next week.

Obviously, they forgot to update the patchclient.dll for all systems below windows 10.Just a minor glitch that has happened umpteen times in this game with very other update even before windpws 10 came out. Even people on steam were complaining about it.Lotro has a history about download it now,we didn't test it but will fix it if it doesn't work, sooner or later.Ususally much later.Forget loyalty to fans.
Chapeau to all who managed to stop Win10 from auto loading all these years. I just didn't have the resolve where Microsoft are concerned, I take a little pride back for resisting Google's constant chrome offerings.
I have to ask why SSG don't have PCs setup for all "supported" OSs to test each patch or at least when delving into specific code might warrant a check? Thinking back to the time all my offering had clean machine installs using ghost carried out pre-release.
I'm able to log in, but every 3-4 starting of the app crashes my computer, resetting defaults on the way for the next restart. That happened for a while, they provided zero response. It stopped happening with an update in December and just started up again with their latest update. Probably related.
We have been investigating an issue that is preventing unpatched versions of Windows 7, and earlier operating systems from there, from being able to update. We were hoping to get this fixed in a small game update tomorrow, but unfortunately something came up as we were working to get the build approved, and we are now targeting Monday for the update.

This is service above and beyond your duty, since you should not even support Windows 7.
