Normally they don't give out the Release Notes until the day before they give out a patch. I realize that Cordovan didn't specify when they would come out, but the notice on Twitter did say that they would not be available until tomorrow: https://twitter.com/lotro/status/1450229455427866627

Maybe they patch things we shouldn't know of or get strong advantages from. ;P

They finally managed to announce a patch 48 hours ahead of time.... and now someone is complaining the release notes are not there yet. Some people will never be happy

(For the record: For YEARS they only announced patch notes DURING the patch, on the day..... it was not until recently they started publishing them a day ahead and in a better readable web format)

Maybe they’re closing the SS exploit and don’t want people to know that they will be logging in to their gold traceries gone.

For the Record: Yes maartena, as a long-time VIP I am fully aware of LOTRO's abysmal performance when it comes to keeping the login box updated and the Release Notes actually RELEASED in a timely manner and Yes, I am complaining. You should be familiar with that term as you just complained about Me, a stranger, for no apparent reason. However, I DO apologize if my complaint upset You. I will give your response all of the attention it deserves. Really.

Bottom line? We shouldn't have to go scouring Twitbook or Google for pertinent update and/or game information.

You're right, of course, with your complaint concerning SSG. But I suspect that Maartena was actually agreeing with you, and attempting some humor at SSG's expense.

In this case, the release notes weren't ready yesterday, but we didn't want to hold up the downtime announcement.

I agree with maartena that having patch notes the day before is fine and certainly better than what they used to do. And that complaints about them giving *more* than usual notice of the downtime would be suboptimal.

I equally agree with Galandrial that we shouldn't need to go to twitter or anywhere else other than the official announcement to see when the patch notes will be released. If it was said on twitter it should have been said in the announcement here (by edit if it wasn't known at the time of posting). There should be one place we can go for official announcements and releases of information. Either put it all here, duplicate it for each location or tell us openly that the official place for SSG to give information is twitter or facebook or discord or ..... and these forums are just for chatting.

No offense Cord, but we are talking about two dozen lines of text. Was the downtime announcement decided That suddenly?

The downtime wasn't, but confirming the stuff in the build is not as smooth a process at the moment as we'd like. Mentioned in the Q&A last week, something we're working on.

"Something we're working on" - these login box info update issues go back Years. How long does it take? How hard can it BE? Heck, I could hammer out the code required Easy in 15-20 mins. Without the bugs or formatting errors.

"... confirming the stuff in the build is not as smooth a process at the moment as we'd like ..." - The biggest issue You Guys have is that you rush content out the door without proper testing or seemingly without ANY quality control. How do you explain releasing content with bugs so obvious ANYBODY playing the game would spot them in a heartbeat? Because no STAFF tested the code live. There is no continuity in the process, the right hand doesn't even know Where the left hand Is sometimes.

Stop treating the game like a grade-school craft project and act like Professionals.

In this case, on Monday we had the notes written and being passed around for an accuracy and completeness check, so until that was done we weren't ready to publish it.
