    Maintenance is an hour early

    I'm comparing with launcher 9AM and the in-game /servertime

Yeah, I logged on thinking I had an hour to run the flower picking quest and instead got the shut down message before I'd even picked a single flower. I have to wait until tomorrow to try again I guess because I think the timer still runs even when you are not in game.

Yup, in game the announcement has shut the server down at 8:00 AM EDT.
Many people had started quests thinking that they had until 9:00 to finish them. I heard from some that they were doing quests that were on a once daily timer so they lost out because they didn't have time to finish the quest.
SSG, what's with the communication between you and the people that handle the servers? Just as bad as it is between you and us players? Wow...just wow.

Maybe it's related to the new automated world broadcast system that Cord mentioned?

Weekly downtime sometimes starts at 8AM so all is good but seeing the "world is coming down in 30 seconds" message right after login today was a surprise

It was. We tried using it, and it worked great! Except it went down at 8am instead of 9am. Either it was just set wrong or it is related to the Daylight Saving Time switch.

Does this mean the downtime will end an hour earlier? Or is it still 1pm?

Daylight savings is the obvious guess.

I note that you had gone to an every two weeks system of patches with maintenance on the alternate weeks. Lately it seems back to once a week. I assume this is temporary to get the new raid straightened out.

Any idea why servers were stilp up (13 minutes from now) but just the realms were down ?
What is the point to close realms when you guys dont work on server more than 2h ?
I guess real patch aply start from now? Hope it wont cause extra dwont time... ?
And yes, is knida silly to f..k up so many ppl sweating in raids because of ONE mistake. (read my previous comment if wonder what i mean)
    Is not one.
Doesnt matter, hope it will be all fine!

So close to fixing that IRL "buggy" feature.

Ticking away the moments that make up a dull day,

DST would be my guess because server reset has happened to me 1 hours early as well for the past few weeks. Here in Central Europe we are going to switch to CEST (=Central European Summer Time) the coming weekend, so the time difference to server time should be 6 hours again, while it has been 5 hours for a few weeks now.
There's some good in this world, and it is worth fighting for.

That'd be my bet, but who starts a big run an hour before down time? C'mon, people...

Thank you. I didn't have "Time" stuck in my head for a while now Love the song but it's extremely "stackable" to the point where you sing the guitar solo (which can be embarrassing when a) you can't sing and b) you're in public)

I'd say basically all of Gilmour's solos are singable which is part of their allure. There are more than a few examples of him singing along with them himself, most obvious example being Wish You Were Here.
