    Old Expansions Collector's Editions

The Anniversary announcement has been overwhelmingly positive, lots of great free stuff for players who were previously F2P or haven't paid for LOTRO content.

I noticed one of the account wide gifts listed was:

    Collector’s Edition – Mordor Expansion
Collector’s Edition – Minas Morgul Expansion
Collector’s Edition – War of Three Peaks

As a player who stopped playing after Moria and started again around Mordor, I have SoA, MoM, Mordor, MM, WoTP, and Gundabad collector's/ultimate editions.

I have been wanting to purchase the old collector's editions (Isengard, Rohan, etc.) that came out when I wasn't playing LOTRO and have asked about this a couple times over the years.

I'm not even asking for these to be given out free, is there any way we can acquire them, even if it means purchasing?

Sadly not, Expansions like Isengard and Rohan Base/collectors/legendary were exclusive and they cannot be sold again.

Pretty much what Pontin said. Part of the reason we changed the structure with Mordor, from what I'm told. Some of those items we could potentially try and put in other places, but a lot of stuff is locked down to folks who were there then.

This is one thing I love about this forum site, the actual employees talk to the players. Things get heated up sometimes, but man, I love that fact that you guys interact with us.

Too bad - I too would have loved to get some of those collectors editions that like the OP I missed. The ones you are giving I have.

I get sad every time I see someone wearing the Mordor armour that came with the deluxe Mordor version.

I saw that every account will receive the collectors edition of Mordor, Minas Morgul and The Three Peaks, will the Mordor’s and Minas Morgul’s contain the Varlar still? What if my account has already purchased those expansions, may be or may not be the collector’s edition, will I still receive the gifts when login? Will be very appreciative if you could answer it.

I have purchased the Minas Morgul Ultimate Edition and was wondering the same. I'm positive, though, since there is no Collector's Edition linked to my account.

A few years back Cordovan explained (As best as he could, and you'd have to speak a bit of Cordovian), that it was legal based on federal US and Massachusetts laws..... if an item was marked as "exclusive" when it was included with a sale, that "exclusive" item can by law not be supplied in any other way later. This goes for both physical goods as well as virtual goods.

I guess with Mordor and up, SSG changed the legal language in such a way that they could. I doubt anyone would sue SSG (although there might be some disgruntled player with a pocket lawyer) if they now turned around and started selling or giving away exclusive items from those older expansions, but technically speaking they would be breaking some commerce laws and could be held liable.
Moved from Riddermark to Arkenstone on 9/29/2015!
