I hate people who eating dogs. I always try to tell people dogs are friend, not food. But one day i came back home after a week vacation and found out some people stick a banner on my door "Dogs are delicious, eat a dog every week make you healthier". Then my friends in the dog lovers club think i am a liar.

    ^ True story.

My first reaction to my signature being changed was, lol that's funny. I can't comprehend how someone can be so un-happy with their life that something as trivial as their broken game forums signature being changed to something humorous would get them worked up. Maybe its time to go outside and take a deep breath or two, listen to the birds sing, smell a rose. There is so much more to life than being miserable.

Well, its the definition of "personal right" of each people. Just like people might not understand why a Muslim's rage with the restaurance because they use the knife that had been used to cut pork to make his meal. To him, eating pork is something very horrible. Thats why we have a guideline about "no talking about Religion and Politics". We also have one about "dont put words in other people's mouth" so this signature joke is unacceptable and need to change to a more neutral signature like: "Your signature is broke, please make a new one."

I have to admit, that's pretty darn funny!
Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, totally worn out & proclaiming "WOW, what a ride!"

Or maybe they've had differences with a community manager and the 'humor' was in poor taste. In school we have to teach kids constantly that if they don't have a good relationship with someone, they shouldn't be 'teasing'. Thinking it's okay after someone takes offense isn't okay either. If you want to talk about life, talk about respect. Calling someone miserable is taking an overly simplistic, narrow view of the situation. You don't need to attack others to support Sapience.

    Pink was the perfect touch...

Well played indeed! I thought it was a clever joke. It was ugly looking at all the broken code, and it has had the desired effect - people who didn't want the new bright pink "saying" changed it immediately. If he got a few pocket votes out of it too, who cares? Shouldn't we all want LOTRO or LOTRO related people to win in as many categories as possible anyway? The link took you to vote for all the categories, not just his. It reminded me to vote us best community at least, regardless of what other votes were promoted. The more positive attention the game gets, the more likely our beloved Middle Earth gets to keep hanging around for years and years!

Perhaps it would have been more professional to make it vote for LOTRO for best community, not just for him... but really, making it hilarious and kinda troll-ish made more people not only NOTICE it but also CARE about it (because people LOVE controversy, as we're proving quite well!) and thus address the broken signature issue quickly. Brilliant, really.

So I say - Support our beloved game! Vote LOTRO best community! Vote Sapience because he represents LOTRO in his category! Vote for one of our two LOTRO guilds in the running too! And fix your previously ugly broken code signature to something else if you don't like his fixing it for you!

Alright talking about respect, respect is earned, not given. While i quite often don't agree with Sapience for the most part he earned my respect. Whining about such a little joke isn't that respectable though so i think the term miserable fits the bill.

1 -Make it anything "pro" me.
    2- Make it hot pink
3- Make it a Back to the Future quote so people with a sense of humor would get the joke.
Brilliant! But Alas, mine wasnt broken, so I fixed it.

Speaking of Sapience and signatures, what ever happened to "How soon is Soon(TM)?"
(I should probably change this to a real sig now, but I'm busy playing LotRO.)

Once again, I say big deal! If you don't like it go and change it. To complain about it just makes it look like you're looking to start fights. What it was changed to wasn't offensive, or degrading, or racist, or anything else that could possible offend someone. It was a joke, get over it. There are bigger things to worry about than your forums signature. And no, its not your personal space. These forums are owned by Turbine and operated by Turbine which means they have absolute control over anything and everything that happens here. They're not spray painting on your house. Its a forums signature that they gave you access to free of charge. Which means you don't own any of it. If there was some sort of permanent advertisement in the signature then I could see the merit in complaining. But a joke? Seriously, just go change it, takes about 1 second to delete the old signature and leave it blank.

In my country they said: "there wont be smoke if there is no fire." Sap set this fire up by change the signatures. People who complain about it only the smoke. This is not a big deal at the beginning i agreed. He can just say: "ok, its a joke, sorry, im gonna change all the default signatures to a more neutral note." Instead, he and many other keep defending his decision, telling people its a joke EVEN WHEN MANY PEOPLE SAY ITS NOT FUNNY. That's make the problem become more and more serious.

All I will ask is that you reduce it down to meet the 350px wide x 125 px high signature requirement, please.

    1:11 on my clock.

Still tidying up this and that since the forums relaunched. Writing up bug reports for little glitches that aren't major but need to be addressed in the next forum update. Proposals and such that are easier to write at night when no one is making noise in the house.

lol, this is too funny XD sapience needs to win just because of this.

it's weird how the old signitures are too large for that. I actually spent a good hour+ on paint remaking my old one to by a single pixle short of your height allowed. but it's still 14px to wide.

it's also weird that, by default, you have 1 line above your signiture unused, and 2 lines below. with my screen having 2 full posts maximum on screen at once of which most is not information posted (but saved stuff like sig/avatar/quote). I have ~13.5% of my browsers screen taken up by unused signiture space.

a signiture like mine, almost exactly 125px high, taking up ~18%. you could allow a picture/text space much larger by removing said uneeded gaps
