Petition for RP-encouraged Status for Crickhollow

To Our Valued Developers and Game Masters

We, the undersigned, request that the Crickhollow server be designated as RP-encouraged, just like the Landroval server. By long standing tradition, Crickhollow was a second RP community server, and we would very much like to continue that tradition. Role Players are loyal customers, and tend to stay with games longer than others and put more into them, including purchasing more items from stores. We would very much like our server to remain a Role-Play friendly, fun, and harassment-free environment, which encourages players who decide to make a character here to enjoy all that this wonderful game has to offer.

Thank you for your consideration of this matter and we greatly appreciate the fine work you all do to make this game the awesome experience that it is.

Most definitely! There's not th' same level o' immersion here that Landroval's got, but there COULD be, 'specially if'n th' Valar (or their earthly representatives) were t' nudge it along by addin that RP-EN designation!

Crick is the only server I've really felt welcome on. Even on Laurelin, I've never felt as welcomed as I have by the RP community on Crick. I would love to see those four little letters after the server name.

You can not roll a toon on Crickhollow or any non RP server and expect Turbine to change that/the server into a RP-ENC one.

And what about those people who started here their the Lotro-Career(2010) because it was not a RP server? Are there any unhappy costumers[non-rp] on Landroval, who want their RP-ENC tag to be removed from their server ?

It doesn´t mean you can not RP here, but enforcing a "new Behavior or conduct" on a server out of nowhere or because some people asked to... this might collide with what other people might have to say here.

Although this is probably a grea idea for turbine, because I can personally guarantee they will have gained at least $25 from me for a first class ticket to another server.

Actually, entername, a lot of the RPers here started here before there were ANY RP-encouraged designations on any American server. Crickhollow had the reputation of being the second home of RP back then, and a lot of the players who made characters here did so because of the RP. When the RP-encouraged designation was given to Landroval, that was long after the community had established a heavy RP presence there. There was a heavy RP presence on Crickhollow too, even then, and there still is. People are not simply making a new thing here. We would just like acknowledgement of the server's history and we would like people who make new characters to know that there is a vibrant RP community here as well as Landroval.

Oldin, I will count you as a "little thing." There was no need to be rude. It costs nothing to be polite, but rudeness earns ill will.

I am hopeful that eventually the company that runs this game will find it in their interest to have a second American-based RP-encouraged server. Not enforced... encouraged. That simply means that they acknowledge there is an RP community on the server. Why would they want RP? Because RPers buy all the little things that they sell. Because we buy the costumes they sell on the LotRO store, we buy the furnishings and little extras that are nothing but pixels, that unbalance nothing, and often do not even require a new 3d model.. just a new skin on an old 3d model. And if we have characters on more than one server, we have to buy twice as many of them. If LotRO did not want RPers, there would not be costume slots, player housing, or costume only clothing. There would not be festivals where you earn things that have no real utility in the game. They are cosmetic. But RPers will spend hours fishing or tossing snowballs to get the items for the house or their wardrobe. Gamers don't need that stuff. RPers do.

I respect Sapience's announcement and hope that eventually they will revisit the issue and perhaps decide to give us the RP-encouraged designation. Having a second server that didn't require connecting overseas (with the lag that probably entails) could help to ease queue times to log in for events. However, the developers and managers have many issues to consider when they make changes, - even small ones - and we should to respect that. They have all the little things as well as the larger issues to analyze. We can ask, we can attempt to encourage, but we must do so in a respectful fashion always. It's only polite, after all.

I think it's a great idea, Sylvertear, obviously it will take more time and support to change any minds about the label of the server. I for one have found RP has enriched my playing experiance and has encouraged me to spend more money on this game.

I started on this server when it opened as F2P. I rolled one toon, eventually went VIP, got to the level cap and then cancelled my sub because there was nothing to do and left for 6 months until ROI came out. I got to the cap again, could not raid because of lag so I was going to quit again until I read Brucha's story of Theo and was enchanted with the idea that one could actually play AS their character. He was kind enough to give me some basic RP instructions and include a character of mine in his story. After that I found a community I never knew existed that has made my gaming time so much more than just mindless grinding and leveling. I have purchased cosmetics, character slots, wardrobe and storage space, something I never would have done before. I have a lot more fun now and I still manage to level my characters and head to the end game.

Whether we get a tag or not I think we do have a great community and we should all support each other with great RP and lore based stories.

As at the prior start of open beta on the older servers the Dev encourged us to vote for what each server flavor would be: Unoffical PvMP, Unoffical RP, Unoffical.......

The when the idea came for F2P and they were adding servers we the vets were asked again what each servers flavor each new server would be Crickhollow was voted the Unoffical RP server. I came from my home server Menedlor to here for a relax get away from Menedlor and Silverlode, because of the theme it would become (granted alot of Landy had RP police at start). I made this my home, I do not RP myself. But I saw the ones here were good and not going to cry over those of us that did not.

As I do not pay for any of your game play here (as I am a Lifetime), I will not tell you how to run your account. But to get into a huff one way or another about this or that, is a waste of time or energy. All I can say is if the RPers here want it I support it (as stated that is what this server was thought of at the beginning). All of those that do not want to RP, let them be.

To the RP community, I would say keep at it. Send in letters/Post about it. If you know the story of "Shawshank Redemtion"
Andy kept writting letter even after he recieved the monies.

As for me again, I have been around long enough to know alot of you come and go. Those thought as famous or infamous names die out. I take it with a grain of salt, and still play.
