This, one thousand times and more yes!

I heartily detest skill trees. I love the current system of class traits and its flexibility; I am not a fan of skill trees (be it druids, mounts or anything else).

For goodness sake, please do not break what we have.

I have played games that had trees. I have played games that don't. I don't see any particular difference in flexibility in the end (probably just me, there). There are limits either way. Some find trees more intuitive. Others don't. Mixing them I don't see as possible from the implementation point of view. Implementation details will, I think, matter greatly.

Indeed, in a world and life full of change, the only constant is human nature (A is A, after all :P).

That's not how I read the question. I think a better way to put it is, 'Can we have a system that allows us to quickly change traits without visiting the Bard?'

Call me lazy, but I hate going to the Bard to change traits whenever I switch roles. Being able to switch on the fly, with an interface similar to the MC trait panel, would be a huge quality-of-life improvement. Over and above that, being able to save multiple traitlines is an even greater improvement.
