Forum doesnt function on my smartphone

My smartphone makes a mess out of this new forum, the forum-website complains about cookies not being enabled ( they are), and I can't read the LOTRO forum on my smartphone anymore.

Its nothing major, mind you, but it was fun to browse the forum on occasion

I get the same message on my Nexus 7, while using Chrome. I use Chrome on my PC, and don't get the message there.

Yes. The problem is in your browser. Do they use an older/different version on the Nexus 7? That's probably why.

I am getting this same problem warning me about the certificate not being valid and am getting this on my Brand new Nexus 7 2013, my Samsung Galaxy S3, and on my PC using Chrome (latest version) never had this issue before.

nexus7 a tablet right? and s3 is a smartphone, so I assume those versions were obtained from the playstore, correct? they are compatible in many ways with the chrome but not the same program.

I had this problem on my much older smartphone using the default Android browser from 2 yrs ago. Android2.3.1 and downloaded opera mini which had good reviews and works just fine with the new site in my experience. You could try that. previously I was getting the same certificate issues and not loading threads at all.

I encourage you to dig a little deeper please. I am getting the same message in my brand new Samsung galaxy S4 , which was just released on every single browser i have installed and tried (ff,chrome, boat, built-in and a couple of others) .
I doubt it is browser related..


The error i am getting is that the Certificate is not from a trusted authority.

These are from Boat & chrome . Both updated to latest versions, and my android is updated to latest 4.2.2 patch. Nothing else i can update on OS/browser. I personally dont mind skipping the error, but it is quite glaring every time, and could be worthwhile tracking down why your certificate is concidered suspect by a number of phones and or browsers!

Oddly, I have had no trouble on either of my PCs (home and work) running Windows 8, Firefox, and even noscript (with lotro.com etc. allowed of course).

Yet my freshly wiped Mac (Mountain Lion) with Firefox (and noscript) tells me that the site's certificate is untrusted because "no issuer chain was provided."

On a site I manage, I neglected to install the issuer chain certificate (which is an additional file separate from the standard certificate files) and saw similar behavior. But it's certainly strange that this is only affecting individual computers/browsers. On the site I manage, it only affected Firefox, but it was consistent between Mac and PC (I believe).

I'm not saying anything is wrong on Turbine's end. That would seem unlikely since everything works fine for the vast majority of users. Just trying to throw out another data point in the hopes of eventually helping someone come to a conclusion regarding the root cause of their issue.

P.S. I'd probably have my sys admin check the issuer chain certificate just in case though.

I see same on my (original version) Nexus 7. But the software is pretty up to date -- I've had major OS upgrades pushed out to me, so I'm not convinced that is the issue...

Any word on this issue? I have a Moto Razr HD running Chrome 29.0.1547.59 and Android 4.1.2 and still get the red error message copied by Stirella stating "This site's security certificate is not trusted!" Is it safe to click the button to "proceed anyway"?
