I play EQ2, have played every class, and every single one can solo just fine all the way to 80.. sure some are easier, or safer than others but all of them can do it. (In fact, EQ2 is generally an 'easier' game than LOTRO, though still 'harder' than WoW)
As for my minstrel.. I havent had any trouble soloing to 40 something so far.. I dont see why the changes will be any problem. (I dont think anyone should be soloing "Elites" unless they are grayded out)

I don't have any pictures, but the crafted design is really unique. It's a hexagram circular design. Very different looking. A bit small for a heavy shield in my opinion, but very attractive. There is also a new long rectangular model that has a style reminscent of the crafted T6 heavy armour with the rounded ribbons of metal design. That one is very large, probably 5 feet on a Man/Elf.

From what I've read on the gargantuan thread over in the minnie forums, the fights aren't harder - they're just longer. A couple people posted video of some minstrel solo fights in MoM and honestly, I found the fights to be too slow paced for my liking. Some of them wre just a little too long, but on others...I don't think I could bring myself to do much questing if that is what I have in store.
As for our ability to solo big baddies - as better minstrels than I have pointed out, the problem is our healing output > the damage output on these single mobs. If that were a problem Turbine was hoping to fix (I'm not convinced our class retrofit has anything to do with this BTW), they could/should have introduced game mechanics specific to these mobs that countered our healing output (e.g. rage timers, reactive skill interrupts, etc).

Good lord the guy complaining about LM soloing in Moria is full of it. Just last night I soloed four +2 mobs at the same time, in a tight space within a dungeon in Moria. I'm far from uber. Its still easy to solo as a LM, and if not then you really should be changing to a simpler class - both before Moria and now.

CC rules all, true....
Tanking is the best CC though

You make Legendary Pies, they gain EXP as you eat them.
1)Is that a recipe gained from the 50-60 standard level up as cook or are the pies a guild recipe?
The reason I ask is I am a crafting nut. I have a Amourer, Armsman. Historian, Tinker, and and an Explorer, GrandMasters all. The Explorer (GM Tailor),Armourer (GM Metalsmith), and Historian (GM Scholar, GM Farmer), I can specialize with out determent.
2) Is that right? or is there a Farming Guild?
The Tinker (GM Jeweller,GM Cook)and Armsman (GM Weaposmith, GM Woodworker) on the other hand I will have to choose. So I am guessing I will have to create and level another character to make a second Weaponsmith and Cook if I want to have access to all the guild recipes.
3) I get that right?

1. I don't know for sure, but the Tea is a blue product, so I assume it's going to be part of the legendary crafting, for which you'd need kindred with your guild. But I'm not even certain there is a Cooking Guild. I don't have a major cook character, sorry.
2. You're right. There's no Farming Guild. So for most vocations, your major production profession will have your Guild. Historians will have to choose, of course, if they also have their Weaponsmith progressed.
3. Also right. One per character. So you'll have to choose wisely on those. Though if you were truly a "crafting nut," you'd have a Woodsman as well as an Armsman, so you could clearly use the Woodworker from Woodsman and Weaponsmith from Armsman and have both covered with guilds.![]()

Guess I will respect my Armsman as a woodsman (loosing weaponsmith)Create a yeoman (New cook keeping jeweller on first character maybe even do the farming on the yeoman instaed of historian as well)
Create another armsmans to level weaponsmithing on.
(I would have liked just creating a new woodsman but my armsman is named Fletcher so that wouldn't feel right making metal weapons with crafted by Fletcher on them and abandoning that monikar on wood bows.)
As I recall other than 4 crafting quests the levels to cooking and farming can be "bought" for a few gold and some time.

I always found the idea that mage-classes are for the intelligent, whilst tanking and DPS classes are for the less intelligent, to be laughable, and even hilarious. There are some of us who have very intellectually challenging and demanding RL jobs who do not find it interesting or stimulating to learn how to mash buttons in the right order, at the right time, etc. etc.Understatement of the century! If you can't solo up to 50 on a Mins you really have no clue how to play this game! Mins and Hunter are the 2 easiest classes to solo on, with champs coming in right behind them! LMs are the toughest, but that is what makes them fun to play! They aren't just mindless DPSers! You actually have to use your brain in just about every encounter...
Perhaps living in the basement of a parent and bagging groceries makes you hunger for something more challenging, and that's great, but the implication that those who prefer more casual classes are somehow meatheads, is a curious and ridiculous feature of the MMO landscape.
I, for one, come to Middle Earth for an escape, not for a second job.
So, you're good at playing an LM in an MMO, due to 4,000,000 hours experience with every MMO since Ultima Online. Do you really believe that is linked to intelligence?

Quick question, just so I can be sure: From what I'm hearing about this Guild membership is that you can only be part of one guild. So you have to pick one of your trades to take it beyond GM? I can only be a guild member as a metalsmith not both metalsmith and tailor.
I can understan why they would do it that way, but it saddens me none the less. Working to GM both was because I was an Armourer and wanted access to the best of both trades.
Also...
Thanks GM, I concur. I work full time as a computer analyst fixing everyone else's problems. When I get home I just want to take a break. As a tank, there is a ton of tactical issues if raiding or fellowing, but I can go solo to bash heads with something big. It lets the o'l brain unwind.

Toonafied,
I suppose all cultures need to have blowhards that are not intelligent, but claim to be....
MMOs are no exception.
Has this issue been discussed before?
