And no design decision or tech decision is ever as easy or straightforward as players tend to assume. And you should understand that we do know the game, we listen to players, but if something doesn't happen that you request, there are excellent reasons for it. "It's impossible" is often the #1 reason why some requests don't happen.

We love you Floon and really do appreciate you taking the time to respond to these threads.
    </shamelessdevkissup>

I personally was mostly interested in the outfits portion of this thread and completely agree that you guys add new outfits with EVERY major/minor update. I still like the idea from the OP of having a few of the local outfits made available and hope that when there's time this will still be under consideration. With that said- thanks so much for all your hard work!

The features Housing needs most are social ones. Either neighborhood events, or easy ways for players to schedule events, could make being part of a neighborhood actually mean something.

What I would like to see would be a public billboard outside of the housing gates. You would be able to post events, and people could just click a button on the UI to map them right to it. Some could be password only, if need be. The board would have filters and a search bar as well. These features could help people organize events that are open to the public, but can still have a private space.

Yes, we read your posts, guys, and be sure that we'll read them in the future - it's a part of our job, anyways - but don't take it the wrong way, we're not going to change anything you ask for no matter how loud you would shout. Period.

I want more hooks, i want more room, i want stables. But no matter how many angry posts i could write it's not likely going to happen.
Floon is always saying that it's too much work and would cost them too much to drop the other work they're doing now in favor of the work we're asking them to do... And Turbine don't want to spend more money on hiring someone else to help...
SOooo people, here's a bunch of nerds in this post (including myself), and it's a financial worldwide crysis, of course, etc. etc. but why won't we just throw together 20 bucks each and hire some developers in help to Turbine to get us our housing system done sound and shiny, eh?
well it was a joke. or it wasn't? every joke has part of a joke or so some people say... Turbine is not going to allow that but i don't see any other way to get the housing thing moving, from what i've been reading here

Different game, different software tech/design. Don't forget, housing was never originally going to be in the game, and was tacked on in, what, Book 11 iirc, simply because people asked for it.

Yes, that's right, people actually got what they asked for from the devs, but apparently that isn't good enough.

I know, which is why this makes this all the more embarrassing. You're supposed to have better technology and people who know more as the years go on and your company grows exponentially.

I would gladly give them $20 if I got customizable, useful housing in a thriving, fun neighborhood that was more integrated with and integral to the larger game.

Even if the tech is better, it still doesnt mean that it is capable of all things relating to it. AutoCAD R17 is better than AutoCAD R16, but it still can't do 3D machine rendering, as you can find in Pro/Engineer.

Yes, because that's a perfect explanation as to why LotRo is missing a good housing system.

while I think some of these should be off-limits - certain housing items especially, and to a lesser extent outfits, should be unique, or unique to "public" spaces in the world, IMO - this is very nice, very well done catalogue, Ag! I would LOVE to have a birdbath in my yard

Not sure if it's been posted already or not, I'm way too lazy to sift through all of the previous pages. I like your ideas, but you have actually suggested a few housing items that already exist... Ones I can think of atm are the small and large picnic tables, and the sun dial, and I'm pretty sure there's tree stumps too...

Different picnic table models exist, yes. I chose different ones (ones that don't have a gigantic feast prepared upon them). The treep stump is a festival reward if I'm not mistaken (I've looked for it a few times at the neighborhood vendors in the past and couldn't find it), and a terrible one at that. Might as well make it a vendor item for what it's worth. And yes, there's a sun dial already in the game, but not the model I chose, and this one you don't have to get from a festival either.

For reasons I cannot go into, because I'm sure I'd some how get a warning for it, I'm no longer advocating for housing changes. Adios.

Just read through Patch Notes for pre-release Book 7. Saw nothing on any housing, clothing, or hobby changes/additions. Did I miss a big block in my rush? Or is there literally nothing whatsoever new added for that part of the Middle-Earth experience not involving the mass slaughter of mobs?

They added a cosmetic cloak you can buy from cosmetic merchants and race-specific cosmetic backpacks. That was it.

I agree. I had some questions about some things in the patch notes (and posted my questions/comments elsewhere) but after reading through the notes I didn't find a single thing that I said "Yeah, I've really wanted that!" Nothing.

Perhaps Lothlorien will bring new items and decorations they have not revealed... we can only hope.

I'm going to give Bullroarer a try, because I really don't want to overreact before seeing in person. But at the moment my thoughts are already headed to hoping for some love this summer in Book 8, and figuring out how to spend my downtime in the interim.

When have the patch notes ever enumerated even a quarter of the new art and items added? You have my permission to pull your head out of the noose, and step off the chair.

I can understand not spoiling us with what exactly is being added, but perhaps you should quantify it for us.

"[x] amount of new cloaks, [x] amount of new Outfitter items, [x] amount of new decorations, [x] amount of new clothing patterns that are drop or reward-only" etc

You wouldn't have to tell us what or where they are per se, just let the players know they are, in fact, there.
