No Reputation TP POINTS?!?!

There was a Dev FAQ that was posted on the forums somewhere that states that points will not be awarded until your re-subscription date, whenever that is. There is currently no way to view this for life time subscribers but 'they are working on it'.

I read it as current subscription/VIP TPs points on the NEW account system in F2P, not what we are owed for the Loyalty, months playing since June 1, and the 1000 lifetime bonus. I read that as within a week of launch. I'll be happy if I get my 4000 pints within a week or so.

It's been spotty for me. My Minstrel got her deed Turbine Points, but my Hunter didn't. Guess which character is Kindred with everyone but the Eldgang and Ale Association?

Neither my Champion nor my Guardian got them though. It's just been the Minstrel so far.

What is wrong with you people? The headstart hasn't technically even started, the servers had queues and so were obviously overloaded, which means the store & TP handouts were also overloaded, yet we have hundreds of people who can't think, read or be patient. What did you think was going to happen when tens of thousands of players try to do the same thing all at the same time, when you knew that stuff was triggered -upon login- and not per account, before you login!? Eight pages, and the OP couldn't wait ONE HOUR for his stinking points, and had to come here, like many others, and cause yet more chaos. *throws monitor out the window at this thread*

Dude. The confusion lied in the fact that the new deeds popped up, and were completed, and then the TP's were not awarded. Using logic one would think that they would happen at the same time, so when I didnt see points being awarded, I assumed it was working as intended. Of course theres going to be lag on launches. But this was a unique situation.

There will be no retroactive awarding of TPs for deeds completed.

It may seem like reputation is breaking this rule, however reputation was never a deed. They are turning reputation into a deed, which is why you will be awarded TPs for all the reputation you *just* completed from the conversion into deed, however it was never a retroactive award.

edit: keep in mind, you were awarded xp for deeds before in lieu of TPs, obviously. So now you will be earning TPs instead of xp, which is good from a max level point of view.

I have logged on 3 characters on Elendilmir so far (I have more there). 2 of the 3 were awarded Turbine Points (TurbineHappyFunBucks?), as they were updated on their deeds/traits and reputation as appropriate.

The 3rd toon was NOT awarded these TurbineHappyFunBucks (Turbine Points), for completed Deeds/traits and Reputation.

I immediately filed a ticket about it and it was QUICKLY closed with this canned response:

Your report indicates a known issue. This issue is being investigated by our development team. Unfortunately the In-Game Support team does not have any additional information about this issue and cannot provide you with a resolution at this time. Any new information about known issues may be found in the LotRO Lorebook. Checking the forums frequently will keep you up to date with official information and announcements about the game.

Anyone else find it amusing that Turbine Points, being so lambasted on the forums in the previous months and by some forsworn to never be used whatsoever, are now causing such a furor when p33pz dun get ther free stuffs?

Nothing like feeling cheated out of getting something you didn't want in the first place and actively complained about existing.

Which is essentially the core of the problem. Many of us disliked the change to F2P, but it was FORCED on us, so we have to live with it.

Having a system we weren't fond of, FORCED on us in a broken manner, is the root of folks' anger.

Until it's fixed, we have been cheated out of promised Turbine Points, and....we are not amused.

Wow, just wow. People are really amazing. I logged in, saw the deeds pop up, didn't see the Turbine Points get awarded, and for some strange reason I didn't get the urge to throw my monitor out the window. I waited all of ten to fifteen minutes and then they started trickling in one by one every minute or so. I completed a slayer deed and got the points for it an hour later. Completed an exploration deed and got the points in five minutes. Friend of mine logged off his toon before he saw that he got the points. He logged back in and there they were. Some haven't gotten their loyalty points yet. Some did. Everyone who's owed them will have them soon.

Everyone is coming out of the woodwork to come play the game and see the new stuff all at once. That couldn't possibly cause things to lag and go slowly would it? Nah of course not. Everything always works perfectly the first time it goes live. And of course, if it doesn't, Turbine cannot possibly have some method to track which deeds got done tonight on what toons so as to fix it. No that would be crazy to assume that. Have any of the complainers even looked at MyLOTRO before going on about being cheated out of points? They track all your freaking deeds and quests. It really isn't that hard for them to award Turbine points for stuff you did if it didn't get awarded when it should have. The store is supposed to track all your incoming points and points spent too so they got multiple records here. So quit whining and go explore the new content. If anything's broken it'll get fixed and you will get your precious points.

Frelorn has posted three times in this thread already. They know about the issue, they are fixing it, they will make sure you get the points you are due. Filing a ticket at this point is just wasting the time of the person who has to read it.

There's thousands of people all logging in at the same time, on multiple characters, with dozens of deed completions for each of those character. Whatever the automated process is that awards these points is most likely backed up to kingdom come right now. It's like when everyone tries to get on the freeway at rush hour, the highway stops and no one goes anywhere. I had one character I logged in, and bingo 0 Turbine points. Twenty minutes later, I started getting the little messages and the points starting rolling in. Give it some time and it will work it's way through everyone's characters eventually, but until then we just have to be patient. If a week from now you still don't have all the points you should have, that is when you should complain.

Ok first off, let me restate what has been said by Turbine and probably over a hundred others THERE IS NO RETROACTIVE DEED AWARD SYSTEM if you completed a deed BEFORE today's launch of f2p, you were rewarded with XP, titles, and virtues. As of today, instead of Xp you receive Turbine Points. Upon login you will receive turbine points for the following things: New reputation deeds (attain x reputation with y faction) and defeating Thorog (if you've already killed him in the past).

THESE ARE NEW DEEDS THAT AFFECT OLD CONTENT. YOU WILL NOT RECEIVE ANY POINTS FOR OTHER DEEDS COMPLETED IN THE PAST

also, nobody said that Turbine had to bring the servers up THIS early in the morning (right now its 3 AM). In fact they could have decided to wait until 6 PM tonight if they wanted. Heck they could have decided to NOT go ahead with this head start program. Whining and complaining about a problem that Turbine is already well aware of and looking into, will NOT help in ANY way. Instead go spend your time playing through the new content that the devs like jwbarry worked long and hard on to publish today. There's MONTHS worth of content in Enedwaith alone. You could even decide to start over on one of the new servers. They still have that "new server" smell to them there are a THOUSAND other things you could be doing besides complaining about it here on the forums like a spoiled child. I apologize that my words seem harsh, however the situation seems to warrant it.

If you're not going to help and be CONSTRUCTIVE, then don't post. as of right now, I for one would heavily suggest to Frelorn, Patience, and all the other Turbine staff to close, lock, and delete any new threads on the forums that have the sole purpose of complaining about the known issue that Turbine points aren't getting distributed quickly enough. right now the servers are under an IMMENSE ammount of stress from the update as well as the floods of players logging in all at the same time. Either be patient and wait things out, or don't play during head start. Simple as that

So what you are saying is that on our lvl 65 alts instead of receiving the thousands of TP's for the dozens and dozens of deeds we've already completed, we'll receive XP (none, already lvl 65), Virtues (Maxed out at 10 already), and Titles? That's it? All those months of playing for pay we get squat? But anyone who comes on now will be awarded with TP's for the same exact effort in which we received none. Sorry but something seems terribly wrong there.

You said this has been stated by Turbine, please point me to where I can read this, it's not in either the Release Notes or LOTRO Store Starter Guide.

Correct. You will have to just accept the fact you did them for fun. But really, it would be very costly for Turbine to reward all the players retroactively.

The conceptual issue is people are mistaking getting TPs for the NEW rep "deeds" that were added for each faction rep level with some kind of retroactive TP count. You get NO TPs for any deeds you'd previously finished (it's right in the FAQ); you DO get points for the brand spanking new rep deeds (that you never finished because they didn't exist) that everyone gets on login today.

Oh, and sheesh people, don't any of you have any clue about the strain on a database of thousands of entrees being added at exactly the same time? No wonder there's display lag on TPs.

Doesn't matter if it's conceptally easy or not, they decided it's not worth the effort to do for however many 100s of thousands of characters that exist in their database.

And it was made very clear from day 1 that retroactive points weren't going to be given out. In that sense, all those people who've been finishing deeds in the last few days rather than holding off until today needed to read some notes.

No not in coding downtime. In opportunity cost. If they award thousands of more TPs that people would have instead had to buy, that is lost revenue. And BTW, there are many players that have far out-earned what the Loyalty Rewards program offers, myself included.

From a revenue standpoint, as a business decision, I can understand that. I've only received 440 TP's so far, guess i'll have to wait and see if any more points come in over the next couple of days.

PT9. Points for Deeds
Points will not be granted for Deeds that have already been completed. Points will be granted for Deeds completed after the launch of Free Play. Deeds will no longer grant experience.
There are new reputation Deeds which can be completed to earn points.
