Re: Show us your favorite cosmetic outfit

Not that there's anything wrong with fancy, mind.

Here's something I tossed together while tinkering around. Probably not the best helm for it, but eh.

    - The shoulders, boots, and gloves are from the [item]Armour of the Lady's Power[/item] set.
    - The helm is the [armour]Helm of the Whirlwind[/armour].
    - The chest is the [armour]Copper-Inlaid Surcoat[/armour] from the Dunland landscape quests.
    - The quiver is the crafted Sturdy Elven Quiver.

    What can I say, I'm a bit of a shutterbug. :P

Outfits like this one and the white robed hobbit of Ninah are some of my favorite kind of get-ups in pretty much any MMO. They have a very authentic and immersive appeal.

If you have that outfit on your champion and wardrobe funtion, you can cosmetically equip it on any of your characters.

    Hmm. Well...

    - In the case of the helmet, there's actually a captain version - [armour]Helm of the Rallying Shout[/armour].
    - The chest is a Dunland landscape quest reward.
    - The gloves... yeah, pretty much the only item with that appearance are the aforementioned gloves.
    - The texture of the shoulders and boots is re-used on the level 65 [item]Berserker's Armour[/item]. Still champ armor, but a little easier to get than three pieces of DN gear. Especially since, as of RoI, the Moria, Lorien, and Dol Guldur medallions will all be bound to account. So you could gather the needed tokens and pass them to a champion alt, who could in turn toss them into your wardrobe.

Now, as I mentioned in an earlier post, the current restrictions on the wardrobe are being removed with RoI. That includes armor weight, class, and even binding status. One could pick up a piece of armor in loot, add it to their wardrobe, and then sell it off at auction if they so chose. If one happened to get ahold of a piece of armor for another class, they could likewise use it as a cosmetic.

Unfortunately, that wouldn't really help here, since the armor barterers in Moria, Lorien, and Mirkwood are class-restricted trainers. But it might be useful going forward, with open barterers like the sort used for the 'In Their Absence' cluster.

Just a clarification. By dunland quests does that mean this is an expansion reward? (I LOVE that outfit btw)

In RoI beta all wardrobe restrictions have been lifted. Regardless of level, light/medium/heavy or class mentioned on the tooltip, you can drag it all into your wardrobe. This means that as a Runekeeper you can buy the Helegrod or the of the West Captain set from the skirmish vendor and use it cosmetically.

Jadzi's use of helmet inspired me heavily to create this captain outfit - I wanted something for a lady captain which would look heavy, but not damage her body shape:

Recently decked out a Hobbit Minstrel alt as a Welcome to the Over 50 Crowd gift. Probably won't stay this way for long, but it's cool for now..
