    Ugh...

I managed to log-in and while playing I decided to resubscribe, so I logged out.

    Big mistake.

servers are up my butt they are down for europeans or ip blocked or something.

learn some manners and learn service GIVE US A TORRENT.

sorry for the offencive language here but jesus christ even a 10 year old knows torrent = solve the issues.
Torrents won't solve it, believe me, been down that road once and it was a right pain with things not matching up when I tried to launch.

I'm in the UK and patched up after 6 hrs waiting. It was done in 20 minutes. Turbine have kept us up to date with messages on here and twitter. They've done a good job to be fair.

Just because you aren't getting what you want doesn't mean it isn't being done right.

Why am I not suprised that no on (well, lots of people anyway) can't log in now that the servers are back up with the updates? Lesson learned: Never expect Turbine to do something correctly the first time..

Make all the excuses for them you want, this is a failed launch impacting a large part of the customer base.
I was on the programming side and have had many run-ins with the "Network types", but when new software went up, it had to be smoother than this is going AND it is impacting a large part of the customer base, or so it appears. Bugs will happen, I get that. This is a bit perplexing. I'll throw this out there too, I'm a VIP and it does bother me a bit that I'm paying for this game while people who can play for free are probably already playing the game. It may have already been stated elsewhere but I can't read this entire thread, I do think there ought to be a day delay between VIP/Premium access and F2P access. I don't think that is unreasonable.

But that's not my call. I'm not really frustrated, I did not set my day around playing Isengard, I'd say I'm just perplexed that this is going down in the manner we're talking about.

Indeed. Now, tell me what the project costs for implementing that into an existing platform are.

    I'll wait.
The forums are not an accurate representation of the thoughts and feelings of the whole player base. Those who like a particular feature are in the game enjoying that feature. Those who don't like it log out to mention it on the forums. It is a relevant but biased source of feedback, and any claims of community desire should take this fact into account.

One of the problems with the update process is that the client has to connect to the servers multiple times, and every time it stops you get pushed back into the que. So you wait to log in, you wait to update, you wait to examine data, and then I think you wait to get into the game. Anyway, you're going to have to wait in line at least three times I believe. So if you get past one stage, don't bag out, or you're have to go through it all again.

That's pretty much how it was. The queues were often in the thousands too, and it took hours to get in at first. And sometimes, your number would go UP, for reasons never explained. It did die down about a week after launch though.

I am begging people that have multiple computers and already have 1 or more already patched. Please don't patch anymore until a lot later. There is some of us here that can't even patch our one machine. Please and thank you.

Directly proportional to the number of customers that may be alienated?

That's just a guess on my part. I do see your point.

I just did the same, took about a half hour to get a new connection...and when I did it didn't even pause at Examine. Whipped right past and now it's updating.

open your clinet and walk away. I've been waiting since 9am est to patch and at last it has started to down load. Once those that have patched are in game others will be able to start patching... Patch servers are working and game servers are up...

Laurelin currently has about 100 ppl in glff which usually has around 500 at this time. Hopefully the strain on the patch servers will not grow too much with the US hitting prime time soon
