I did it on my lvl 34 hunter. First time she died. Second time I was prepared having eaten food and used a tome. Still came close to failing again. The troll was easy but multiple enemies attacking is always a problem. The crawlers especially took a long time to kill.

Hi, MoL, is there any plan for us to have the stuffs that our barterer Bert Bartleby have on his outfit? His backpack, his tunic and trouser, and his hat. His horsie, too.

Did it on my then lvl 31 elf hunter. I'm sad to say that I died thrice on the final wave with the wights, even after I used tomes and whatnot. Have since leveled up to 32, so I'll give it a try tonight :/

Especially this. I want the horse as a cosmetic pet, for RP purposes. Finally something that it makes sense to have following you.

if this is done can we get a rideable version of the steed as well, a lot of us want the steed, but as something to ride, not follow around

I did it on my 35 fire-traited RK (wearing 32 gear mostly). He didn't have any problems with the waves. One time - I think it was when those 2 crawlers appeared, his morale dropped to about 30% because I was taking it too easy, playing with the enemies. After that point, I started paying more attention and used Volcanic Runestone + stuns more. Some AoE skills or crowd controls sure help there greatly.

There are some of us who have also been bringing below level characters as well. (Waaayyyy below in some cases.)

This week was a bit of a wake up call from the lull we've had of late where it was fairly easy if one knows the areas to do what needed doing without running into trouble. When a mixed lower level RP group I have gets to this point, it'll be a grand adventure for them, I think.

My 21 and way underequipped/traited gambler tree burg fell to the knee with the second group of rats. I'll be suiting her up better, catching her up epic-ly to level her a bit, and giving that another go before next Wednesday. Going to try with my 30 something Min tonight to see how he does.

If you are considering an "aftermath" barter item adding after this content reaches its 52nd week, I would like to add my vote to a cosmetic pack steed as well as the egg basket from the Lone Lands. Yes, we have an egg basket. Yet it's not an every day RP basket. I did find it funny which Treasure Seeker you made a property guard. I guess his lessons won't go so well afterall.

Thank you again for this content. It has proven to be a lot of fun thus far, and I adore having more fluff rewards.

Yeah, the ideal thing would be a cpet and a rideable version of the same horse, so you can get off your horse and have your horse there behind you instead of mysteriously vanishing, and then get back on your horse and have it not have to magically appear. I mean, the best thing would be if we could have that with a lot of horse variations, but even one would be a huge improvement.

I did it with my Lvl 33 Champ. Used 'Fight On' a couple of times. Got low but made it through OK. The 3 Wrights together were probably the worst.

I liked the feeling of finishing at R. entrance with WW and Bingo. That sense of loneliness; we are foreigners after all (even when my character is an elf); elves are gentle but distant; with a strange sense of humour.

I must admit, I lost it when Bingo gave WW a name. Nice quest

No, they just already have Bilbo. They are probably already having difficulties with food supplies as it is

This week I was a bit surprised by the big jump to Rivendell. I am doing these quests on one character that I am leveling up in sync (as much as I can) with Bingo. I still haven't done many of the Thorenhad-N. Trollshaws quests but Bingo is already hurrying me along to see the Elves. I'm going to have to use my Tortoise stone so I don't over level Bingo while I wrap things up and head further East.

but yes, the Lynx was cute and I hope he continues with us.

I had the same reaction, but what hobbit wouldn't be over-excited about going "to see the elves!"
His sword was long, his lance was keen, his shining helm afar was seen.

Heh, everyone would. Now my question is going to be, "Where will Bingo go next?", now that he's reached the Cloven Valley.

Got a quick question about these quests. Normally, you can't accept a quest that's more than 5 levels or so above you. My little hobbit is 22, and working on the Forsaken Inn quests. She just got "The End Now" at level 32. Will I get XP if I do this quest, or should I wait until I'm a bit bigger?

Without giving spoilers hopefully is it intended MoL that Bingo doesn't talk to you this week in the last spot you find him on the quest? I loved the little dialogs when I found him on the other parts but not by the falls which was my last spot to find him. He disappeared as soon as I approached

I enjoyed the tour of Rivendell, and I think I even found one or two places that I have not yet happened upon in my regular travels. Terrific use of this content.

I bet on going south to Dunland. Not only I'm pretty sure we will not go to Moria, but also because we would be able to meet the Hobbits there.
I don't expect it to happen soon however. I think we'll stay in Rivendell for a bit.

That's a technical limitation with the way it's set up, so in a way it's intended. He's visible at each location as long as you're on the 'find each location' step of the quest... but the moment that you're no longer on that step, he stops being visible.

Is it a technical limitation to have NPC's go *poof* and disappear immediately after talking to them? During A Brood of Boffins all the NPC's in my view (I was at the well) went *poof* after I spoke to the final NPC. I've never had phased NPC's do that before. It was rather sudden and disturbing.

I've also found a few steps in a quest that had no voiceovers. It stuck out since all others had them. I wasn't sure if it was intentional so I didn't bug them, but I took screen shots just in case.

I went through that quest again and I see now you're talking about the bystander(?) on the Stock side of the bridge. I was talking about the Bounder on the far side. The way to the bridge is blocked on that side of the river as well, but the Bounder just talks normal Bounder stuff. He doesn't say anything related to the quest.

That's exactly what I'm talking about -- advancing to the next objective means that you're no longer on the objective where they display, and therefore they no longer appear. In cases like 'A Brood of Boffins,' where we need them to appear in a new, nearby location, having them hang around and also appear in their new spot means that you'd have two copies of every NPC hanging out in close proximity, which is something we generally try to avoid (although Halbarad has famously not gotten the message at a couple spots). When we're sending you far away, we usually don't care about having two versions of the same NPC around until after you talk to the second one, because you're far enough away that you probably won't notice.
