The sword is larger because it is intended to be used mostly from horseback, thus longer for reach and perhaps also a bit heavier for blow, not sure about the latter one.

I used to have two Rohirric swords as dual wielding champion, but I dropped it for the nice Anorien swords, it looked a bit silly. In regards to cosmetics in Rohan you are absolutely right, i have still to test out more of the Wildermore recipes, but a lot of the barter items are very good looking.

No, it's just an Elk, not available as a kit. Have not seen any War-Elks yet

Maybe a bit offtopic.. but do you happend to know also a really big 2 handed sword? Not a thin one, but also chunky.

I think I remember one of the captain’s greatswords of the third age from the class vendors in the Dolven View in Moria being pretty nice and chunky. I was carrying it around for a good while. Try having a look on this page:

I made a swan-themed outfit for my LM alt. I thought this was fitting because the character's last name is Alphemel, which is Sindarin for "Swan heart" (she's Eranodore's sister).

Head: winged circlet (skirmish camp cosmetic vendor)
Chest: robe of the hopeful melody (skirmish camp classic vendor)
Legs: trousers of the hopeful melody (skirmish classic vendor)
Feet: ceremonial boots of the quiet step (skirmish cosmetic)
Hands: gauntlets of the lady's discernment (caras galadhon hunter trainer)
Back: Swan-Cloak (store cosmetic, sometimes available in the AH)

everything except the circlet is dyed Evendim blue

Just gonna drop this here...

Calchiar.

Basic Armour set is lvl 80 Heavy, enhanced with Moonlands Barter Rangers items, shoulders and chest. And the Helm is actually Medium Armour, but Wildermore Barter.

Pretty much the same as I have posted previously in other colours for my champion Malancil, but with the addition of the pretty Wildermore Barter shield. Oh, and Crimson.

The Crimson Captain of Rohan, if I may...

Ops, seems I am repeating myself. Had forgotten the post a few meters above this one. But the shield is nice.

Malledhrim heavy armour crafted set from Mirkwood reputation vendor, dyed white (I know...), with Grey company cloak from epic quest in Dunland, a hunter's bow of the third age and a matched pair of Malendol's swords from the epic quest, vol II, book 9.
