Well, I managed to connect just now. But I am now stuck on "Examine Game Data" It's rather annoying.

This has been handled about as well as a level 25 Great Barrows run with 6 players who have never run it before and speak 6 different languages.

We have been adjusting patch server capacity and adding additional patch servers all afternoon and will continue to do so as needed. As more and more players fully patch up and log in, the demand will drop and we will once again reallocate the servers back to their usual roles. Please be aware that this process may take some time. No offense but every patch has had this issue so why wasn't the hardware already allocated?

what a crock! I can't believe we let Turbine get away with this. Here we are, a full day before the originally announced launch date and it has taken them literally HOURS to get the patch out and the worlds live!

I planned on exploring this new land a bit, but instead, i've been forced to participate in the real world. Turbine, you have reduced me to doing laundry! Now all my clothes are clean and fresh smelling, I hope you're happy.

The real slap in the face is that I'm an out of work game artist, one of your own kind! I've been out of work for almost a year now, and today, instead of playing the game (f2p, and haven't bought RoI since I have no job) I actually worked on my portfolio and tried to get a job. I can't believe how you treat people that haven't given you money. You just take my un-earned, non-money and give me extra content early for all I care, I'm sure there are plenty of other games that would be glad for me to not give them money.

If this doesn't get resolved before this evening, and I have to spend quality time with my wife, so help me god...

This is why I am going to wait until tomorrow to update Lotro. I am in no hurry to get into the new zones anyway since they will probably be packed full of players, I will probably wait a couple of weeks before I even travel to the new zones so that the great rush of people will be at level cap or in the zones that are for the level 70+ players.

I find more enjoyment traveling through a zone at my own pace and soak in the scenery. I don't like to deal with other people that yell at you for "kill stealing", I have tried to invite people into a party to do them in other games when it comes to new zones but they usually fire back with "that will mess with my exp. from killing mobs!". So yea like I said I will just wait a couple of weeks, I have some other stuff I want to do on some new characters anyway.

I do hope everything goes ok for Turbine and that they have a smooth launch, I have been playing this game since late 2007 and I have not had any complaints. But then again I treat MMORPG's as a hobby and not my life. :-)

Thats odd. So those who patched but are waiting in line those who still need to patch? Its like closed cirle, we all slow down each other. I patched many many hours ago today but i see no chance to actually log in. Guess most have to wait for patchers to let others log into game, If thats the case, its very poorly implemented Sapience :/

Whilst I think there is definitely some extreme posting, remember that not everyone is trying to get Isengard a day early, they may just want to play the game at all. I'd happily have Isengard a day late if it meant being able to play all the existing content in the meantime.

Fingers crossed it isn't an issue on my side, though (I suspect not, as I have a 100ms ping to patch.lotro.com, with zero packetloss). Always annoying when a general issue masks a specific one.
