Frelorn, a question about Tuesday's server patching/maintenance.

Nimrodel is scheduled to transfer that same day. Will Nimrodel's transfer be available immediately when the servers come back up at the estimated 3PM EST Server time, or will that be postponed to the next morning?

Since the transfers usually gets opened up at 11 AM Server time, I would suspect not as the patch starts at 8 AM Server time. My guess is that the transfers will be open as soon as the servers come back up, whenever that is. It might be before 3PM Server time, or if they are delayed it may be after....

That's just my guess though.

It's quite apparent that they don't care about NIMRONDEL! If they did they would have postponed the new store with no cart until wed or thurs to let ppl transfer. I feel real sad right now...

Well it's only a couple of hours..... 3PM instead of 11AM server time. At least you weren't SHUT DOWN like what happened to us on Riddermark 2 weeks ago..... Hi, transfers are open! (15 minutes later) Nope, we closed them because we messed something up, stay tuned! - And my transfers were in limbo until they re-opened a few hours later.

It will all be fine, you get to transfer that day. I shall pre-welcome you to Arkenstone!

Yes. Since the weekend has arrived at Turbine HQ, don't expect any blue name answers on that. It is pretty safe to say that since transfers have been opening up at 11 AM on each day, that that won't happen on Tuesday because.... well..... the patch started 3 hours earlier. I would go with the planning on expecting the transfers to be live as soon as the servers come back up that day.

There is no "fix". There are a few isolated cases where errors may occur. One of them might be if you attemped to transfer a character that has not logged in for around 2 years or so, when they changed the housing storage from multiple chests in a house to just one big one. If you had a character that had not been logged on yet after the change, you entire account could have issues doing the transfers. There are a few other isolated cases, but I believe most of them are of a result of 1 character (or more), creep or freep, not being logged on since a major change was made to the game.

People have been forgetting about their old creeps and such, and that might also cause issues.

If you have such an issue, all you can do is bug report it, and wait your turn. Could be a few days.

When you start the transfer don't select the "transfer all" checkbox, but take a close look at your listed characters. If there is some "unknown" name, do not transfer anything. Login to the server first and log in to all characters on that server.

I login all of the characters on the affected account first. Then I close the game and initiate transfers. That way I know that if there are any versioning issues, those get done first and the databases updated. My main world is Nimrodel. I will have a much more intricate move with these characters. I'm going to wait a bit, for Tuesday I have a medical procedure scheduled and the downtime will be, hopefully, over after I get home and finish recovery. I will have to wait for ASF's leader to post on the website a successful move of the kinship. Only then will I begin moving and even then I'm not going to be in a rush doing it.

What I would do is before you do any transfers, log in to ALL servers, log on to ALL freeps you may have and ALL creeps.... I did this a few months ago, just took an hour to log on everywhere. It might surprise you, I had a few toons I never logged on to for years, and they got all sorts of marks, finished deeds put in later and TP for those deeds because of changes over the years. Those marks will be transferred over to Arkenstone, which is where I am consolidating everything

I transferred my characters off Firefoot to two separate remaining servers, thinking I would be able to play around on them and decide which one fit my needs and playstyle, and then merge them onto the one I liked most. My understanding was that this would be a possibility, with the only caveat being that I wouldn't be able to go back to a server I recently transferred from. Now however I find that this seems to an impossibility. Seeing as how Firefoot just opened up for transfers on the sixth I thought there would be some lee time to experiment. Are transfers off the remaining worlds impossible without payment? If so, that is a huge bummer.

I think that will happen after all the servers have been opened for transfer and the dust has settled a bit. They haven't revealed what their exact plan of action for that will be, but they did mention that they would give us that option at some point.

Yes, last word was they hoped to have open transfers (limited) between remaining worlds once new hardware was in place toward end of the year.

So you'll be able to get yourself back together, but not for a while yet, slot patience!

Last Friday evening I transferred my kinship from Firefoot to Arkenstone. I already had one character on Arkenstone which had been there for many years so I created a kinship with the same name as a place holder. Well, you guessed it...when I transferred the kin I had forgotten to disband the kinship on Arkenstone and ended up with a "-1" on my real kinship name. I spent Saturday researching how to fix it and found a link here in this thread. I submitted a ticket per the instructions i.e. ticket, premium services, kinship rename. Being a weekend I did not expect any answer until sometime late this coming week. Wow, was I amazed when my kinship name was corrected Monday morning.

This is not a Fanboi post, but rather, a hearty thank you to Turbine Customer Service. Their speedy assistance is greatly appreciated.

Just wondering if there will be a period of time that people can move in between the remaining servers for free? I know a few who regret the server they have chosen and no longer log in any more.

You will get an opportunity to move between remaining servers, but not until the new hardware is in place which is scheduled for "late fall". It is expected that these will moves will be limited, to prevent people from doing daily server-hops to get 5 hobbit presents, or to troll servers for an hour and then move on. How limited, that has not yet been decided, but I would expect you get 1 free move per character or something like that, so you have a chance to move to a different server if you don't like the one you are on.

Yes, an official answer to this would be nice. While I'm not inclined to join in with the constant whining about every little thing, frankly I don't think it was very considerate to schedule the new store upgrade on the same day Nimrodel was already schedule to open for transfers. It's not like they're patching a bug that is a serious problem or subject to exploit that needs to be patched asap.

For some reason, I was able to transfer my toon on Brandywine over to Arkenstone just now.
Don't know if it was a fluke, or maybe they opened up transfers off BW?
